Islands Fresh Mex Grill — Restaurant in Leland

The food is absolutely AMAZING & me & my guy used to love coming here before all this covid stuff. We decided to come today & I asked for 4 medium salsas & 4 hot salsas. (They come in tiny little 2 oz. Cups) The girl said "I'll have to charge you extra for that". I said "that's fine but why are y'all charging extra for salsa when it used to be on the buffet bar & you could get as much as you wanted?" She literally just shrugged her shoulders at me. I said "that's fine, I'm sure there's a survey listed on our receipt, right?" But then we weren't given the receipt so I had to come here. Seriously tho, how can you go from having something on a salsa buffet bar for free but then go to charging extra now that you can't have it on the salsa bar? I'm sure once this covid stuff is over it'll be back on the salsa bar as it was w/ getting as much as you want. This is crazy! AND the girl that waited on us was not very friendly AT ALL! This is one of my absolute favorite places in town, but I am disappointed in the way we were treated tonight. Came inside to wait for our order and a male employee loudly exclaimed that our order was just placed minutes ago and we should give them time to make it before coming in. He said this to another employee but was clearly trying to make a point. The other employee didn’t say anything back to him. So unprofessional and embarrassing. Can people not just come inside to sit and relax while waiting for their food? Or is that not this kind of place? For the amount of money we have spent at this restaurant, I do not think we deserve that kind of treatment. I have truly enjoyed my past experiences, and we have never seen this particular employee out of the many times we have eaten here, so this was a first. I'm giving this place 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. We made an online order and arrived about 5 minutes after it should've been done. When we gave the name, she said, "oh yeah," and started it-no biggie, places get busy. The first girl assembling the taco salad used her hand (gloved) to grab rice and dumped it in the to-go box amongst the other ingredients, then used that same hand to wipe down the counter top of stuff into the trash. I asked her to "remake that taco salad and please use the scoop that's already in the rice please." Her annoyed attitude was clear. She left out the shell for the taco salad, we had to remind her. Their AC unit drips into their ingredients. "Yeah, we know, we've been waiting for it to be fixed for awhile now." Did not eat the food, we will not be returning. Go anywhere else.
