I have been coming to this PCJ since 2008. I love it here but I have a recommendation or two. Recently smooth jazz has been on every time I come in. I feel this is not cafe music at all. I over heard other customers complaining about the recent music as well. If you served wine, maybe lol! Please go back to the old music, or perhaps allow the baristas a playlist they can choose from each shift. Therefore the music will be ever changing and the employees will benefit from choosing music they enjoy within reason of course. Also Lavender coffee is becoming popular. I have been driving in to Wilmington some days to get lavender coffee at a cafe that has a house made lavender syrup. It’s divine and they always have a long line of people wanting a lavender bliss, with homemade lavender and vanilla syrups combined. The premade lavender syrups taste like soap sadly, but offering two house made syrups would become a fan favorite in no time. I love PCJ and I hope you don’t mind my rant lol. Thanks for all the years of yumminess. PS Kaya, & Will make my coffee perfect every time šŸ™Œ šŸ™Œ

I came into Port City Java last week after a while of not visiting any location. Port City has always seemed like a nice local alternative for me instead of the bigger chains. I think that still holds true, but I want to touch on the big three factors. I ordered a frozen coffee. These used to be better I think. It was still alright, but it also used to cost less. Inflation is everywhere, but it can be a tad disappointing when quality decreases too. Again, it wasn't bad just not as great. Service was a bit slow. I was the only one in the store and the employee got my order wrong and then removed whipped cream by scraping it off and pouring a bit out, which resulted in less drink. Atmosphere was fine, but it was slow and this location is slow. Not much to compliment or harp on to be honest.

Always love to go through Port City for my coffee. It’s my favorite in and around Leland!! And I’m always greeted with smiles when I go! The coffee itself has the best flavor. My go to is the signature coffees or the blended coffees in the summertime.

I went inside to the dining area and ordered a vanilla latte and a Mediterranean wrap. I was working on my laptop and did not notice my latte was ready. They did not even call out that it was ready so by the time I got to it it was cold. It may seem petty but it did not make me feel valued as a customer. It’s not rocket science. It’s quite simple to say ā€œVanilla latte for John!ā€ I then waited precisely 25 minutes for the med wrap to find out, ā€œit was not received in the backā€. And when I asked the barista if they had begun the order she told me that she had ā€œspilled coffee.ā€ I’m not sure what that has to do with my food not being prepared…An apology would have sufficed….Mind you the dining area was almost empty yet they couldn’t remember I was waiting...
