I used to love this place, but lately I've had mainly bad experiences. Out of the 4 orders I've placed this month for pickup, they had forgotten to make my meal on 2 occassions. The first time when i arrived for my pickup, my meal order wasn't even in their system. They had absolutely no record of me placing this order, but luckily enough I was able to pull the confirmation email from my phone. They had to start making it then and there. I didn't really care as this might happen every once in a while, but the waitress didn't even say sorry for the delay. I didn't really care much of this experience cause I eventually got my food and that's all that mattered. I ordered a lunch special today. I ordered it one hour before pickup. I went to the restaurant to grab my meal and the waitress couldn't find it in their system for the second time. Apparantly she had a paper ticket, but they just forgot to make my order again. I was slightly irritated as I had been on company lunch break, which is onlyhalf an hour long, and now I had to waste 10 minutes of it just for them to quickly assemble my meal. Same experience as previously, I wasnt given an apology. I was going to let this slide, but after arriving back to work and opening my to-go box, I had to realize they had forgotten half of my meal. I only got the meat portion. They forgot to add the rice, beans, tomatoes and avocados. Yes, I paid over 15 dollars for some meat. Why didn't I take it back? I was taking my lunch break from work and at this point I had 15 minutes left due to having to wait for them cook my meal because they forgot it. So I just ate whatever I was given. I ordered a side of fruits, which thankfully was included in the bag, but to my biggest surprise, the included grapes were spoiled. Some of them even had mold on it! I had taken pictures as proof for the Kansas Health Department. Today you forgot to cook my meal, you only gave me some meat in a box, leaving out the rest of the food I paid 15 dollars for, AND you also gave me rotten fruits with mold. 3 major errors in a single order. How can this even happen? I used to love this place, but now I'm going to drive further for food. I'm never ordering from this place again.
Edit: I emailed the restaurant 3 days ago asking for a refund and they have ignored my...
Read moreI hate doing this because Fronteras is about the only Mexican restaurant we eat at. Even during the pandemic my parents go once a week for lunch and we have had several deliveries/pick ups from them over the years. Sometimes things unintentionally happen. However, what happened tonight was intentional and Fronteras dropped the ball big time. Today, we had a birthday in our home and we are in quarantine. Our birthday girl chose what she wanted. I placed an online order at 6:40 pm and the site said it would be 40 minutes. I also received an email at 6:41 confirming the order and delivery time. I waited an hour and five minutes before I contacted the restaurant. The first time I called a woman said she would get the manager. I was on hold for six minutes. I hung up, called back and asked for the manager. The man who answered seemed shocked and put me on hold. The same man came back to the phone and was now, mysteriously and magically, the manager. As soon as I said "online order" he asked if I was (said my name). I told him to just refund my card and cancel the order. He said that he was sorry and he didn't have anyone to deliver tonight. I was caught off guard because we were waiting for well over an hour. I asked why he didn't call me and tell me he couldn't deliver and his response was "I'm sorry. Next time I will call." Wait...what? The restaurant was going to let us wait and wait and not deliver. I'm trying to support our favorite local business but I don't think it will be Fronteras. A simple call to my cell listed on the order would have changed that. Fronteras, you...
Read moreMy husband and I were in the neighborhood and stopped in for lunch at Fronteras this past week. We are SO glad we did!
We were greeted and seated immediately, and our server, Cynthia P., showed up moments later. Cynthia was WONDERFUL! She asked us if we'd been to Fronteras before, and when we said "no", she took the time to give us the high points on the menu and tell us about the specials. (Happy Hour all day long, Monday through Thursday?! Yes, Please!!) She was friendly and efficient and made sure we had everything we needed (including a small bowl of queso for our chips and salsa).
Our food was ready shortly after we ordered, and it was DELICIOUS! I had the burrito bowl (with chicken), and the flavors were fresh and melded perfectly together. I really liked the rice and black beans combination, and the sour cream and guacamole were excellent toppers. I wasn't as fond of the chipotle ranch sauce, but since it came on the side it was easy to try it on just a few bites. My husband had the lunch taco platter (with ground beef), and he said everything was very tasty. We both cleaned our plates, and were very happy with our meals! The chips and salsa were a great way to start out, and I really liked the salsa verde option--I believe it was made with avocado.
We aren't often in the neighborhood of Quivera and 77th Street, but we will make a point to drive out there whenever we get a hankering for good Mexican food. And we'll ask for Cynthia! Thank you for a...
