The Pantry KC — Restaurant in Lenexa

I have made only a couple trips to this gem. Located off 77th and Quivira in Lenexa, behind the Bank of America. I met one if the owners of this specialty pantry actually at a restaurant I work for. She was quite amazing to speak with and had many wonderful things to say about my workplace and seemed generally enthused by food and beverage. Honestly I felt like she was telling me a story about what she was eating between mouthfuls and I was in a trance. After her meal, she invited me to her own establishment, told me that she made everything from scratch and just said please come try ( as breakfast was my favorite food, she knew it was "right up my alley" ). Upon arriving directly as they opened, I saw pastries... treats... honestly things you'll never really see in most American food establishments. Cornish Pasties... Hand made butters and sauces... Fresh baked specialty scones... Too much to list-and i mean REALLY special. Not just a chocolate scone... Just just a hot chocolate for that matter. I don't honestly think I can give this eatery the justice it deserves. I would get here and make it a time that you truly connect with your food. When you find those places that make things that feel like it completes you or was made just for you and only you... That's The Pantry KC. Everything is made with expertise and general knowledge of how food is constructed with flavor and balance. No detail is overlooked when making even the smallest side item or drink. Open only on the weekends in Lenexa in a strip mall around 77th n Quiveria, this amazing couple works 7 days a week at their craft. They run a catering business M-F, then are open on the weekends to the public.

So 3 breakfast offerings (see pics - frittata, breakfast burrito, & an amazing bacon, egg and cheese croissant) in addition to their full bakery offerings of baked goods, cookies, pies, toffees & cheesecakes+.

But most importantly and moreover re: breakfast, during the first weekend of each month, they serve the most amazing biscuits and Gravy in KC!!! True scratch biscuits with density and flavor (not processed pure white flower nor some chorizo or turkey funk) and an amazing sausage (savory) gravy. Incredible.

And I was there at 10:30 am on Sunday morning and scored the last batch.

And the butter toffee is superb.

I don't even know how to start this review other than saying how amazing The Pantry KC is. Dee and her husband are some of the kindest people with some amazing baking skills. I've had the pleasure of visiting The Pantry for a good breakfast on the weekends and working with them to cater the dessert for my wedding. Both experiences have been out of this world. When we visit for breakfast on the weekends, the variety of goodies available is huge and sooooo tasty. Im sad I only started visiting in 2022! As for them catering for my wedding, what a GREAT experience!! Dee was so responsive to my emails and I never felt stressed picking desserts or going over the details. She delivered an amazing assortment of desserts and everything was delicious and beautiful. I had so many people ask where the dessert was from. Can't recommend The Pantry enough for casual eating...
