Went to the Leominster location a week or so ago and atmosphere is really relaxed, beautiful and food is quick to come out as they have all sorts of help from the bar and the kitchen to get things brought to the table which was super efficient.
I did have a bad experience with the stone bibimbop. It was extremely hot so as I was waiting for it to cool I kept getting very strong whiffs of chemicals coming from it. I nibbled a tiny bit of the food and it tasted seemingly fine so it could have been coming off the plate underneath, but I couldn’t get past the smell. My partner offered to eat it, but then he was getting whiffs from across the table and agreed it was strong and lingering. Smelled like chemicals or bleach, but rice was also a bit burnt underneath which probably didn’t help with the smell. (I’m assuming the owner or manager) came over and asked if I’ve ever had it before. I absolutely love Korean food but I hadn’t had anything from there. Exchanged it for the Kimchi fried rice and that was excellent and actually really spicy which I love.
Our waitress was very attentive asking about dietary restrictions/allergies, checked in on us and super nice, but they take your leftovers to the back to box up and bag. We had asked to keep our kimchi to which the waitress offered to give us extra and when we got home we received none, not sure if that was her or the kitchen staff but it might be nice to give the option to let people box up their own food. The chemical smell was very off putting and kind of ruined the experience and we were disappointed not getting everything boxed up with the price point but, maybe the kitchen just had a bad night. Hopefully giving another try...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst dining experience I ever had. My boyfriend and I ordered the Kang's chicken, with a few bites in we realized it was completely pink and raw. We promptly told our waiter, who was quick to bring over the manager. She came over to the table, took our dishes out of the way and didn’t even apologize. Instead of handling the situation with any professionalism, she laughed off our concerns and insisted that the chicken was fine, and told us she tried it herself out back. I pulled up the picture to show her once again that the chicken is completely raw and undercooked. The manager said “if that’s what you think then fine, I’m not gonna sit here and argue with you” What a unique way to handle customer feedback! After sitting around for 20 minutes, the waiter returned to ask if we were ready for the bill. Can you believe it? We just had raw chicken….We asked to speak to the owner, who finally came over and offered a half-hearted apology on behalf of the manager. The owner mentioned she didn’t see what the chicken looked, I gladly showed her the picture of the raw chicken. She assured us the bill would be taken care of and even suggested dessert on the house (which we gladly declined and didn’t want to stay at this awful restaurant any longer)….oh how generous but thank you for food poisoning!! I’m glad I took a picture of the raw chicken, as it seems management needed some convincing. This was certainly an unforgettable dining experience, but not in the way I had hoped. I really can’t recommend this restaurant if you value your health and a respectful dining atmosphere. Thanks for the food poisoning and the unforgettable lesson in...
Read moreWent here for a Wednesday lunch with my boyfriend and we were so impressed. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The restaurant itself was super clean, with a cozy ambiance and some great oldies playing in the background, really set the vibe.
Now the food… wow. The Mapo dumplings were hands-down our favorite. They’re made by the owner’s aunt, which already tells you everything—and they came in this mildly spicy, super flavorful sauce that was just chef’s kiss. The Korean fried chicken was perfectly crispy with an amazing flavor, and the seafood jampong was a great surprise. I thought it was going to be more of a pasta dish, but it’s actually a rich soup with deep flavor and plenty of seafood—definitely worth trying if you like spicy broths.
My boyfriend had the beef bulgogi, which he liked more than I did. I thought it was just okay. We also tried some sushi: I had the Volcano roll and he had the Spicy Rainbow. Both were decent, but in our opinion, the Korean dishes really shine here.
If you’re visiting, I highly recommend sticking to their Korean specialties. They’re authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with love. We’ll...
