3 bad experiences and a moody food experience. We order takeout. The food can be really good at times. First time:The sushi- It was warmed! I think they placed the it in a warming area for pickup. The Kickin Salmon roll was sloppily made, and the salmon was not spicy, as the menu stated it would be. They also asked if I would like Wasabi and ginger. I even requested extra and offered to pay for it. The wasabi and ginger were missing... I also ordered a slamon topper, more $, it was missing. No soy sauce either. Zany's was on a roll! 2nd time: We ordered street tacos, my Dad pork carnitas, he could barely eat them they were so tasteless. I ordered chicken tacos and I got a chicken wrap of some sort. 3rd time: It's a small town so I gave them another chance. Ordered the fish street tacos (they were ok, they didn't seem fresh, go figure we live next to a river.) and pretzel bites w/ beer cheese. Upgraded the beer cheese to the 4 oz, again paid extra $. I received the 2 oz. Chips and salsa. The chips are crazy salty! Almost unedible, it like they dipped them in salt then obliterated them with even more salt. I am seeing either a pattern of very bad QA (Quality Assurance) or maybe they trying to make a little extra per takeout by betting that the customers do not want to have to call or come back. They are like a bad fastfood experience when it comes to the customer experience. McDonalds outshines them in that department. The pros: decent food but could be better. There are not a lot choices around here. So nothing to compare to... The cons: We had 3 Bad customer experiences which can ruin any good meal. I work very hard for my $$ and I am very particular about where I spend it and I felt cheated on all levels. I always put the responsibility on management, starts at the top with the culture. I am sure management will say they can't find good help, blah, blah. I find the excuse that they cannot find good help hollow, ignorant, lazy and suspect. I would love to hear comments from other customers about their experiences. Maybe we can push Zany's management to do better. They have potential and the monopoly from...
Read moreOur family of 8 arrived there last night about 8:30pm. We had 4 children ranging from 12 mo to 11 yrs. We were asked if we would mind being seated over at the bar. We said yes we would prefer to sit over in the family area. The hostess as well as a waiter told us they were closing that area and we would have to sit in the loft at the bar. We should have left then, but we reluctantly stayed. We were seated in the loft which only has very high tables. My parents are both older and had a very hard time getting in an out of the chairs because of the height. On top of that the 2 little ones in high chairs couldn't sit up high enough to eat so we ended up holding them. When we complained to the hostess seating us we were told that was the only place they could seat us. So much for family friendly dining. Then we ordered our food and the waited, and waited, and waited. 25 minutes later when the kids were all crying for food we finally got our food, but no silverware. It took several minutes for us to get them to get us silverware. I ordered the chicken fried steak. I got less than a 1/4 cup of potatoes. They barely put enough on the plate to stick the steak to the plate. The steak was ok, nothing special. For 15.95 I would expect better portion sizes and great quality. My daughter got the mac n cheese and fries. The fries were great, but the mac n cheese was obviously Kraft from a box and it was cold. My mom got the chicken Chimichanga and it was great. The service was mediocre. They were all so busy trying to clean up so they could leave it was impossible to get there attention. Overall it was a terrible experience. I will not be returning. Maybe for a group of friends to hang out its great, but it was certainly NOT...
Read moreA few weeks ago my family experienced some really bad customer service by one of the waitstaff at Zanys. Our food took forever, my beer was forgotten about and came out warm half way through our meal (which arrived cold) the waitress ignored us half the time, we asked for a refill that never came and waited forever for our check and togo boxes. She was great with everyone around us but with us, it was just bad, she wouldnt even make eye contact as she walked past us. I have no idea what her deal was, we were friendly enough. Anyway, I came home and wrote a message to Zanys about the experience. I was told they would look into it and get back to me. 2 weeks later and I have been dismissed. No more contact, no nothing. A few years ago I had a complaint about the quality of the sushi we had ordered. It was warm and looked like it had been dragged through a meat grinder. I thought they might want to know what was being given to customers so I contacted happy days to let them know. They got in touch with the manager of Zanys and said he would contact me shortly. A week later, no contact so I let Zanys know, they contacted him again...again no response. Im a pretty reasonable person, if you show me you care, apologize and try to make it right you will always have my patronage. The management at Zanys obviously couldnt care less about the service they offer, the quality of their food or their customers. I know we are just 7 people in a big pond but they have officially lost our business. At this point its debatable if any Happy Days restaurant will have our business. They need...
