I used to come here all the time for repairs, tips, equipment, etc, before moving out of the valley.
Now, having just moved back and conveniently needing some guitar repair work done, I was curious to see if Seidel was still around (and still had their famous level of quality workmanship).
They have aged like fine wine.
I know how this sounds, but they are really one of THE best music shops I have ever been to, if not the #1. This is because they possess 3 simple traits that you can usually never find all in one shop (1-2 if youâre lucky):
Skill and quality of their work. Try and find someone that can outperform Kelly or any of his guys and Iâll say âgood luck.â
Attitude and store energy. I can sometimes get nervous walking into music shops because you never know with some of these places - I find that a lot of âprofessionalsâ go out of their way to make sure you know theyâre better than you. Theyâll constantly eye you down, patronize you for not knowing something and just make you feel inferior. Not here. I leave in a fantastic mood every single time - I have genuine conversations, and I feel like these people are just as much interested in me and my level of satisfaction than their own craft.
Affordability. Goes without saying! Iâd say they are a tad above average on the price of services, but there are 2 critical factors here: First, itâs not bank-breaking by any means (Iâm a poor college student and have never felt cheated or that it was unreasonable). Second, you KNOW that you are getting the highest level of service possible in the industry. If they tell me my guitar will play like a dream when theyâre done with it, I believe them - and theyâve yet to disappoint me.
No matter youâre level of experience, preference in music, anything - these...
Read moreThis is my favy music store North of Tucson and East of Seattle. Kelly Seidel and all who work in his shop treat every instrument as their own. They know their craft. They are trustworthy and honest. Their prices are amazing and all work is very fine. Advice and recommendations are solid. They will never recommend anyone they wouldn't trust with their own instruments. And the Energy that moves through them and into the instruments they work on is beautiful. My fiddle always feels great when I pick her up and I even trust Kelly (bend over backwards for all my customers) with my Viola, a Fine Instrument, more than some Fine Instrument shops in the region. He may not have all the education specifically for a fine instrument repair person. But he does instinctively and he is some kind of Magic. He takes good care of his young band students and the folk music circle couldn't have a better ally. He has repaired and cared for my guitars and I do believe that is his specialty. I hope that the Heart and Soul that is Seidel Music & Repair is here for the LCV and surrounding areas is here for generations to come. Thank you...
Read moreKelly was so wonderful! I called and wanted to ordered a kids guitar for my daughter's birthday. He was very informative, professional, and patient! I called quite a bit(I'm sure I was annoying), everytime me or a family member was in town (we live 2 hours away) to see if it was in, so we didn't have to make a special trip and he promised everytime he'd call when they came in. Well on a Sunday he went in to do stuff in the store and saw it had came. Even though they were closed on that day he still called to let me know it was in. I happened to have a birthday party that day so I was in town and he allowed me to come grab it on his day off! Thanksgiving weekend, mind you! He was so kind and I will be getting my daughter lessons through there and buying any future equipment. He also tuned it for us so it is completely...
