I really enjoyed the ambiance. The place is small but cute. The DJ was on point. The manager/owner Kevin saved this review from being a 1 star. We were told to pick a seat, and we weren't addressed after that for a long time. Finally, after the waitress came over, she introduced herself and left a menu. She walked away and began setting up the lounge for the evening. My husband and I watched as the bartender sat with 2 people at the bar and laughed and talked. We walked over to the bar and ordered a cocktail, seeing as how the place was empty and no one bothered to take our order. Oh, there was one couple that was attempting to leave as it appeared they, too, had been sitting without being served for a while. We ordered our drinks, and the bartender asked where's your waitress. We replied that she was not around, as evidenced by us having to place this order. When she was done setting up the place, the waitress came back over and proceeded to confirm our drink orders, so I thought.....She questioned me three times if I had ordered a side car, I replied yes as I wasn't sure what her question was. I then realized she wanted me to call the drink by the menu name a 1738, which, by the way, is the same thing. I finally said sure, that's fine, if that's for billing purposes. She then proceeded to tell me she needed to know because the cognac is different for their version of a side car. By the way, I never specified a particular cognac....it didn't matter. I said "okay whatever you have is fine with me." By this point, she is getting upset and takes a deep breath as though I had offended her and walks off with an attitude. I'm pretty sure she was upset because we had to walk up to the bar to order drinks, and she was not happy that she was probably spoken to. This young lady has a serious attitude and should not be working with the public in what should be a fun atmosphere. She was acting like she was on the streets arguing with someone. She then comes back while the manager Kevin comes over to assist us because clearly, there is a problem. While I'm explaining to him what has occurred, she stands there with an attitude and walks off laughing again as though I've done something to her. Oh, I did tell the owner she was nasty. Needless to say, we weren't served again. Only to bring out the food. We had to go back up to the bar to order drinks again. I also had to have the same drink remade as it was now totally different twice, made by the same waitress ( now, turned bartender???). I dont know what the heck is going on, lol. I'd love to go back, but we probably won't. The staff appears to trickle in whenever. The dinner we wanted was not available because the chef wasn't in yet. Kevin managed to make us some great tasting appetizers. I feel the place was a bit expensive. We paid almost $140 for 4 drinks and three appetizers. Oh, they automatically add gratuity. For what, smh. I paid, so I didn't have any more odd confrontations with the same person handling my check. I would love to see these black businesses do well. The customer service it just not cutting it. No one wants to spend this kind of money to not be treated well. We work hard so when we go out I expect a 5 star experience. That isn't happening at too many places in Texas. No one understands that the value of customer service and longevity goes hand in hand. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided to visit for the first time on 9/6/2024. Iām not sure if my friend and I just went on a bad night or if this place truly isnāt what itās hyped up to be. The main issue was service. Iāll explain:
Service: Our waitress was more attentive to a table at the VIP/bottle section, whom it was apparent she knew personally. After being seated, it took about 10 mins for her to return and take our drink/food order. The other section was serviced first, even though we arrived to the venue before them.
Drinks: Our drinks were prepared, but sat on top of the bar for a while, until she was done attending to her associates. When our drinks were handed to us, no napkins were provided. I like to place my cold drink on top of a napkin, so water doesnāt get on the table, plus itās just common courtesy to give napkins. I had to walk to the bar and get napkins.
Hookah: I told our waitress weād like to order a hookah. The waitress said she would send over another staff member, so we could order it. We waited about 30 mins, but no one came. I saw another staff member bring hookahās over to other guest, who arrived after us. I caught her attention as she walked by, and asked if weād be receiving ours soon. She said the waitress never mentioned to her that we wanted to order one.
Food: I got the Suya steak. The flavor was good, but the meat was tuff and hard to chew. It came with no sides. Literally just an appetizer size plate of diced up meat! I ordered fries, since the late night menu was closed. No utensils to eat with, just plastic food picks.
Aesthetic: Main indoor was a lot smaller than it looks on social media; however, it did look nice and clean.
Cost: Parking- free Drinks- $15 Suya...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really hate that Iām having to write this type of review but Iām so disappointed in 1738 lounge. This was my go-to spot for suya wings and rice last year and to my greatest surprise, we went there this past weekend and the āyellow riceā they served us was boiled rice mixed with cheese! I was sooo hungry but I couldnāt even eat up to 4 spoons of it. What happened to the rice with onions and bell Peppers? I was really sad. Then they donāt serve hookah until 9PM which also very disappointing because how do guys say youāre a lounge but only start selling hookah at 9PM? So I guess your main audience is those who come to club? Then it is not a lounge, it is a restaurant/club. I believe that contributes to the reason why we were only 4 people in the entire restaurant. This business was doing great last year when I first started going but it seems to be struggling a little now. The patio was closed while we were there, at 7-8PM??? How would customers want to come back? Thereās 0 marketing and customer retention skills, I really pray that this business doesnāt shut down because it has a lot of potential but I see it gearing towards that, I wonāt be going back anyway, it was always too far for me so Iām glad itās not worth the...
