Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Lexington

I’m so sad about having to write this review bc it’s the first time I’ve had a visit like this at cold Stone creamery since they came to Lexington in the 2000s. I worked at both locations and never seen or had the experience I’ve had today. So I always get a small ice cream with about five toppings And pay about $12-$13. Today at this location in Lexington next to the Fayette Mall, When I asked for the topping of peanut butter, he scooped me out a tad bit on a spoon, not even a full spoon of peanut butter. And I thought he was just being stingy so I feel the spoon up because that’s what they do. Give me a spoon of peanut butter. Gave me another Tad bit. At this point, I was like OK AnyWhoo. But here’s the kicker when we get to the register I saw the price jump from $12 to 20-ish.. And I’m waiting for the price to drop because I’m not sure what he is calculating. He asked me for my phone number and I said wait that says $20 and he said yeah because all of your toppings, And I’m like I got Five toppings (barely) also I asked for extra oreo because they typically give you one Oreo in a small. I thought great but had no clue it would be for $1.19.. so he literally charged me $1.19 for each time he dipped into the peanut butter which was three total times that made up of one spoonful- this is crazy. so I said I’ve never paid $20 for a small ice cream here before he’s going back-and-forth with me about all the topics I got charged. I said I cannot pay for that and he said no I can’t take that back. That’s wasting my food. And I said I’m sorry I’m not paying for that and he said you cannot come back to my store. I said that’s fine I won’t return. The moral of this review is to be sure of how many toppings you are paying for. Some workers are not the book like him-I assume he is...

We have been faithfully buying their (expensive) cakes for most family birthdays for years. We ordered a coffee house crunch cake online for my mom's birthday today and received a confirmation email that it had been CONFIRMED with the store (Lexington, KY, mall rd location) for pick up at 2:45 PM. We arrived after that time and were told in very blase tone that there was no cake and no "paperwork" for the cake. After using her cell phone to call the owner we were told "she tried to notify you but it didn't work out" and that we could EITHER receive a refund OR pick out another cake from the cooler. There were approximately two flavor options in the size we had already paid for, neither of which were flavors my mom would even like. They did have a small in a flavor she would like so we suggested they offer us two small cakes instead, to which the employee apathetically and in monotone "No we can't do that." Since a party full of people was waiting on us and the cake, we were forced to grab the small cake and get out of there. To top everything off, we had to pay for that cake up front and were told we would receive our refund later. We received no apology, no discount, and my mother and the partygoers were all disappointed as a result. Terrible...

well I'm very disappointed. I've been here twice b4 (once in Newport KY, once in TN) and it was great both times. I drove across town to get the only thing ive ever had here, sweet cream with raspberries. The 1st thing was how messy she gave it to me. I went to leave & another patron who was dining outside saw the mess I was battling and suggested going back in and asking them to put it in a bigger cup. i appreciated that and did exactly that. The 2female and 1male employees were all very friendly & worked fast. I got in the car and went to enjoy my treat and this is what I looked down to see.
