This may as well be a club, lol. I took a girlfriend of mine here for her birthday, it was both of our first times eating here. The music was so loud, we asked twice about turning it down, we were yelling at each other, after two request we got moved to the patio area where it was raining outside, patio was closed/enclosed but it was humid & musty & they had a freaking standing heater turned on in the middle of the room. I had to ask to shut the heat off and turn the ceiling fans on b/c it was literally "sticky" in there. Our server was adorable, but it wasn't that busy, even being Kentucky Derby Day & he was very scattered~brained, all over the place except for where he needed to be. I've been a server, and I totally get it, but it was not very busy. In fact, we were surprised at the fact that it wasn't packed. I had to ask for our cheese sauce twice, I never got the ramkins we asked for when we we're leaving, never got the check we asked for, at least not in a timely manner. After waiting for to go stuff and the check for about 10 minutes, we left and had to get it from up front. The managers came by our table about every 10 minutes to ask if everything was good, but our server was very inattentive. The food and beverages were super good, minus the street corn that you could tell had been sitting in a boil pan or something full of water for a little too long. It was like corn mash on a cob, lol. It's was still pretty good, though, just musy, meh. I reminded him a couple times(that we actually saw him, lol)that it was her birthday so they could do their little jigg; but idk if he just kept forgetting or they were just waiting until we were done eating. We were literally leaving when I reminded our server again & they finally came to help celebrate my gf. The decor is AMAZING, WE LOVE IT, but the overall atmosphere was just not on point because the music was at the club level. I would like to add that I can deal with this level of noise, but in this particular situation, my gf had a stroke several years ago & she can no longer take front row concert mode. Perhaps if you have family or friends with similar disabilities, etc, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant but all & all, perhaps our server was having an "off" day & that's ok. Would I eat here again, sure! I'd certainly give them another try, but these reviews are out here to help improve, hopefully without badgering a place of business or people. I simply hope that's all this review does for the restaurant/company because you guys really have something neat worth...
Read moreLet's start off with the decor and theme of the building was really nice. The menu was large with unique meals to choose from. Unfortunately all the good things I have to say with my experience end there.
My family of 5 arrived at 8:00pm and was sat very quickly, the place was not busy, most tables were drinking. We asked for a few more minutes because of the size of the menu and our waitress didn't arrive for 20 more minutes. Once we ordered we waited forever, long enough we asked for more chips, waited some more, then 55 minutes later our food arrived.
My wife got birria quesidilla meal, my son got the flaming hot cheeto tacos, daughter got a kids cheese burger, and I got the vegetable fajitas.
The birria quesidilla meas-was served with very cold rice and beans (thankfully it was to be eaten by my one year old). The flaming hot cheeto meal- was also served with very cold rice and beans. My daughters cheeseburger- came out without cheese (would've waited 20+ minutes for cheese, so we did not ask. Then the vegetables fajitas was served with a heaping pile of onions, 3 pieces of broccoli, and maybe 4 pieces of mushrooms, a few chunks of tomato, couple zucchini and ZERO bell pepper.
After sitting without my corn tortillas for 10 minutes I finished my rice and beans. Hadn't caught site of our waitress so asked a random one for the tortillas. Once the tortillas arrived is when I realized my plate was absent of peppers. Then when my server arrived I asked if they were out of peppers and informed her my meal had non- peppers and onions are the main part of a fajita. She took my plate and said Oops sorry.
Once my family was finished eating my new fajita meal was served. I believe they were being funny and sent out mainly peppers, a few onions, maybe 4 mushrooms, and a couple of chunks of tomato, no zucchini.
Every meal had errors and the service was poor. We had high hopes for this place. The decor was the only thing they had going for them. Normally tip 20%-25%, We left $5.00, when nothing...
Read moreWe stopped in for some pre-dinner drinks on my husband's birthday, just to see what all the fuss was about, and it definitely lives up to the hype! The décor is vibrant and varied, creating an instantly 'fun' atmosphere. We opted to sit at the bar, and enjoyed really yummy chips and dip while we perused the menus.* My husband opted for the Big Lady, which struck me as a giant/fishbowl margarita, nothing special about the taste - although it was adorned with all the accoutrements pictured on the menu. My first drink was the Tropical (DELICIOUS) and my second was the Blue Colada (good, but expected). Both came topped with all the same festive decorations, sour gummy tape, orchids, fruit, and miscellaneous gummies as the margarita. When it came time to request the check, our server* asked if we needed any food and I commented that we just stopped in to kick off a birthday, which - unbeknownst to me - prompted the staff to return in song, with a tequila shot and carrying a huge airplane with a lit sparkler. Quite a production! We definitely want to return with a group to try the margarita tower and the family seafood tray (which, according to a video our server showed us, also comes with lit sparklers), and witness the giant dancing robot we've seen on their Facebook page!
*I docked them a star on the menus because, much like Cheesecake Factory, the food menu is unnecessarily HUGE and daunting, I basically skimmed anything that wasn't a picture because I didn't sign up to read a novel. I also docked them based on a (true) comment my husband made, which was: customer-facing staff should be able to communicate with the customers. We had to do a lot of pointing and pantomiming to overcome the...
