Firstly, my particular server was very nice, but I witnessed several occasions where other servers would roll their eyes or get angry with patrons and then proceed to talk smack about them with other servers.

As for the food. There are only a couple of options if you want Mexican food in this area, unless you want to travel. I had the urge for some, and even though my first experience wasn't the greatest here, I gave it another shot, I craved Mexican. I got the Taco Loco salad, which is tame compared to other options. It wasn't all that bad. No dressing, of course, but used the salsa from the chips to liven it up. The chicken was good, but the beef was a little iffy, but I just didn't sit right with me, similar to my first experience.

I paid my bill and left. Not even a half hour later, I started getting really nauseous and had real bad cramps. What ensued was not something I will share.

That and the fact I had been there with co-workers to celebrate retirements ( I didn't eat during those visits) and they price gauged the he'll out of the drinks because of our large groups.

I will not revisit this establishment. Take this for what you will and make your own judgements, but I do...

Being from Lexington I go here all the time even though I currently live out of town but I come in to visit frequently. They are lucky that they remain the only option for Mexican food in the area . If this restaurant had any other competition in that aspect they wouldn’t be doing so well . It’s 2021 and if you don’t eat meat don’t expect them to have many options or be flexible with you . This review isn’t for food but for service & management . We had a new server training who said he was going on break in the middle of our meal and so nobody else came by to check on us til the end . I got the taco salad which has chicken or beef and cheese included in the price. I don’t eat these things so the best they could do for me would add veggies for an up charge because it inconveniences the kitchen to heat some veggies . If that’s the case then add a vegan section on your menu its 2021 and with more and more people going plant based I’m not sure why it’s an issue here . Guess I’ll just come here for chips salsa guacamole and call it day . Still left the server that was only there for half our meal 25% tip bc it’s not his fault the management is...

I had dinner tonight at Don Tequila's. First I ordered a medium margarita - menu said price was $5.99. I asked the waiter what the choices of margarita's were - he listed off all the flavors. What he (nor the menu) didn't say was that a flavor was an extra $1.50.

Then I ordered #4 off the menu - 3 different items. The menu says that if there is a substitution there will be an extra $.50 charge. What the menu doesn't say is what you are ordering (chicken, beef, pork). So I specified a chicken enchilada. Well guess that is not the norm - I was charged an extra $.50.

One of two things needs to happen: 1) either the menu needs to be clear what the charges will be or 2) the waiter/waitress should let you know when you order something that has an extra charge that what you see on the menu. I may still have ordered the same things; but I don't like non-disclosure of...

Had a short stay in Lexington, VA. We stopped at Don Tequila's for a late dinner. We were greeted and seated right away by a smiling young man. The menu is extensive, varied and quite amazing with many different dishes. Our server was an amazing older gentleman who accommodated whatever we asked for. Margaritas were very good and the food had amazing flavors and combinations. The quantity of food was enormous, thank goodness for doggie boxes! If you are in or near Lexington, you won't make a mistake choosing Don Tequila for lunch or dinner, everything was perfect!

Saw great reviews and decided to try lunch here. Atmosphere was decent, restaurant was fairly clean, prices are cheap and the food was mediocre. Ordered the quesadilla fajita and a small guacamole. The quesadilla came as two tacos which was odd. It was greasy and didn’t taste fresh. The guac was super thick and had a weird aftertaste. It was overall disappointing. Service could have been better. Our waiter didn’t smile at all, he didn’t give refills and was not very friendly. Overall not a great experience. We won’t be returning any time soon.

This is some really delicious Mexican in a great space. There’s tons of spacious indoor seating along with an outdoor patio. The servers are super fast and friendly. The food tasted fresh and great. I’m vegan so I got the veggie fajitas and my sides with no dairy. It’s so much food you can’t eat it all. My daughter got shrimp quesadillas and loved them. Prices are so reasonable. PS the chips and salsa are fabulous plus the white sauce (my daughter had it) was yummy. We recommend it here!
