I want to rate this place higher as my family eats here a lot. When the food is good its really good and pretty reasonably priced. But sometimes they mess up the orders or take over 30 minutes to make your order in an empty restaurant just to get it wrong.

I order a cheesesteak and chicken wings. Only 1 or 2 other customers are in the store. 30 minutes later I get my food. I get home. I put on my pjs, I sit in front of the TV to enjoy my meal after a long day. They forgot the buffalo sauce on my wings, now I can either eat them bone dry or spend some time to make my own buffalo sauce. Sauce that I paid for and shouldve had. I'm not going to change back into my clothing, get into my car and drive 15 minutes just to pick up sauce from the restaurant. I have to put the wings back in the air fryer so theyre warm again. Meanwhile my cheesesteak gets soggy and cold. I have to warm that up too. It just gets more soggy. $20 for food I had to partially make myself, and then its all more mid than it shouldve been.

I was just tired and hungry after after an hour long drive on 81 & not eating all day. I'm not mad, just...

Found Frank’s Pizza because the Wendy’s next door (our intended destination on a very long drive home) had closed the lobby, and we all needed a restroom. The kind staff at Frank’s were letting people use the restroom whether they purchased food or not. That’s their money going to water, hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper with no reimbursement. So, instead of supporting Wendy’s, we ordered some slices to go from Frank’s. Now, where I’m from, when you order pizza by the slice, you get a piece of pizza that’s been sitting under a heat lamp for hours where the cheese is congealed and the slice is lukewarm at best. Not at Frank’s. We got two slices of pepperoni and two slices of cheese, and they were piping hot and delicious. Huge slices loaded with ooey gooey cheese and generous amounts of pepperoni. I loved the crust, which was thinner than usual, but soft and perfectly cooked. The perfect slice to fold and eat. It was so, so good that we regretted not getting a whole pie. I will absolutely stop again when I am...

Thought we had found our new favorite pizza spot!!

Thought! That is until today when we went in and ordered our usual pizza, supreme with no olives, and sat down. It was about 2:00 and most of the staff we taking their lunch breaks.

Our pizza was ready in record time. I have worked in the restaurant industry for about 15 years and observe more than most.

Grace was said and pizza was served.

Right off the bat we noticed it was not very hot. The crust was getting soggy. Further investigation found a layer of melted cheese over the sauce, cheese on top of the topping was not melted. But the next layer was melted.

So i think to my self, "how would you get melted cheese, topped with cheese that had not melted, topped with cheese that had melted?

Then I put it together!! They had given us there old pizza by the slice pizza and tried to freshen it up the way we liked it.

All I can say is Thank You! Thank you for shorting our drive for pizza.

Back to Nicks!!

Never had a complaint about NICKS...

It must be tough running a restaurant in 2021. Higher prices and trouble finding staff. It is showing here. Their pizza is very good. We will come back for that. Stromboli, too. But sadly, in my experience, their sandwiches are now mostly bread. I used to love their eggplant parmigiana, but the last one I had was missing the main ingredient. So I tried a cheese steak and this is what I got (see photo). I tried to spread out what was there and all I got was a thin paste of steak. I hope they can figure out how to get this part of their business back up to standards as they are good people. I am sorry to say this about a local business that I value, but I won't be getting a sandwich here again. But I will be back for the pizza and like it far better than the nearby chains. We are pulling for you, Franks!

absolutely no stars for this restaurant. with at least 9 employees present (and all behind the counter and in the kitchen) and only two patrons dining in… my sandwich was burnt and hard as a rock. i saw the young gentleman who took it out of the oven and hand it to the owner or manager. they both laughed and the owner or manager wrapped it up and sent it out. lack of staffing is definitely not the issue here. a clear disregard for customers, the business and their own work is sadly obvious. having just left another business with one sole employee working the cash register, lifting several boxes of merchandise and unloading the items. this was an individual who took pride in her work and the reputation of the company. that’s what Frank’s of Lexington, Va is lacking.

We were passing through and stopped for lunch and ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The dough and sauce were good but there wasn’t much sauce. They were gracious with the toppings but the mushrooms took way from the freshness and flavor as they were from a can. Can’t help but wonder how the clean the kitchen is based on the window and blinds next to our booth. We had to ask for the check and get our own box as the waitress never came back to check on us. Maybe it is self serve and there isn’t a waitress. ??
