I wish zero stars was an option. So many things to share in this review. We arrived around 12:10pm. No customers were in the restaurant, just our group of four. They did not greet us even though we saw several employees near the drive thru and a manager (? wearing a black DD polo) was counting one of the tills on the counter where orders are served. Finally someone helped us and had a refresher made for one of us, per his order. This person decided to pay for the refresher separately and was given a total of $3.49. The menu board listed the price as $2.49 for a medium refresher with green tea. We questioned the price and the employee said, "I just push a button." We drew his attention to the menu board clearly displaying a price of $2.49. He went back to the register and this time told us we owed $3.89. We pointed out this was even further from the posted price. At this point the polo-shirted employee got involved saying they went by what the register says. We pointed to the menu board yet again to which she became quite defensive, saying the menu price did not include tax. We pointed out a rather obvious mathematical fact - $2.49 plus tax is not $3.49 or $3.89. The polo'd employee then asserted they weren't trying to pocket any money from us. That seemed an odd reaction as nobody in our group accused them of trying to swindle us- we just wanted to pay the posted menu price. She told one of the people in our group that there wasn't any reason to "act like that", which also seemed odd. All we wanted was to pay the posted menu price. We left without our drinks or donuts. I will not ever return to the Versailles Road location. None of their employees ever looked at the menu board right above their heads. None of the employees acknowledged the price discrepancy. We understand they are a corporate organization and do not control their point of sale system nor do they set the prices. What was most striking was the lack of customer service. Starbucks is less than a quarter of a mile from their store and another DD is just a short drive from their location. The DD on Broadway has always given us exemplary service with a focus on courtesy and precision. If you read this cautionary tale and yet decide to visit the DD on Versailles Road, check your receipt carefully. There's no telling what you will be charged. Obviously you can't trust the posted menu prices to impact your costs. It's a shame the leadership at this location is setting such a negative example of customer service. Nobody working showed any initiative to try to mediate our frustration or resolve the situation. Me, my coffee addiction, and my donut obsession will go elsewhere...
Read moreI ordered 2 lates and bagel bites. BOTH of my lates were absolutely horrible. One was to sweet and the other had no taste at all. Also the card reader didn’t work and he asked if I had cash… he told me one price but then when my card was ran I was charged a different price. I honestly don’t think the guy knew how to make what we asked him for let alone do his job! The bagel bites were cold. Horrible experience at this location! I will not be back!
