La Carreta — Restaurant in Lexington

Worst Mothers Day experience EVER, and will never return to this awful place. The restaurant was not full, nor busy at the time we arrived. As we ordered drinks, the server was not familiar with the menu, hence brought us the wrong beer. As we attempted to explain, the server forcefully took the menu from my nephew hands and began to argue that what we asked for was not on the menu. When he saw it was, forcefully removed the pitcher from our table, mumbled a few words and walked away, without even allowing us to tell him, although the order was wrong, we were keeping the pitcher. We walked to the bar to ask him to return the pitcher, yet he raised his voice and began to argue. We are retired military personnel, we do not deserve this treatment. We asked for a manager, a younger male, never identified by name, other than "I am the manager" appeared. Nothing was done, other than changing the server. Wanted for food for about 45 minutes and it was 14 of us, the orders were wrong, food was overcooked and over seasoned. My last bill was over $215, yet the pitcher we never drank and the server took away, was charged on my bill. To sum it all up, our family are familiar to La Carreta near us, and just tried this one as we frequent Childress almost every weekend, after this, we will NEVER RETURN TO THIS AWFUL PLACE. This ruined our Mothers Day, yet not even an apology, and added items to our bill we never consumed. Horrible food and horrible service, I'd rather continue to eat at...

My mother and I will not be returning!!!! The food is always good, but the service doesn't make it worth it at all.

I gave two stars since I'm sure not all the wait staff is horrible and the food is good.

The start today was pretty great. We got seated in a timely manner and they even had the chips and salsa already put on the table for us. After that it went WAY down hill quick.

It took long enough for us to get just our drink order that we had almost finished the chips and salsa. Once we finally got our drinks, the waiter didn't ask if we were ready to order, even considering our menu's weren't even sitting in front of us.

So, of course, it took another way long time for us to get our order taken. It took awhile for our food to come also. Then once we were ready for boxes, my mom ended up having to just go grab us boxes herself.

We had to go to the register without our ticket. One of my friends ended up coming in not long  before we were done eating and was seated right next to us. When I got up to go to the register I told her "good luck getting some service". She told me how she was about to get up and find someone to take their order.

Service here isn't also so great, but tonight has been the worst!!

Incase the owner or a manager sees this and wondering who the waiter was so some corrective action can take place, we sat in the corner where the entrance and patio connects,directly straight ahead as soon as you go in...

This place used to be my favorite spot in Lexington. The service and food have been declining for the last year or two. Just had the worst service ever. It was a busy Friday we came in and were the second party in line. The staff passed both parties in line many times never acknowledging us except to say excuse me if we were in their way. This went on for twenty minutes no one got our names or anything as more parties showed up it became chaos. Finally, they asked some people who had just walked in how many and I had to step in to say we were next. We got seated and waited for the waitress for 15 more minutes she finally got our drink order. She took our food order and we waited 45 minutes then they brought someone else's food. We noticed this happening everywhere as well. Finally after right at an hour we received half our food 2 kids plates and an adult plate we waited about 15 minutes and were then asked if we needed anything... Yes, we still needed the other 2 kids plates and an adult plate. They finally bring out the rest and it's all cold. We end IP boxing most of our meals up and go to pay. I explain what has happened and they take a whopping 6 dollars off my $42 tab. As much as I loved this place had they done a little more to show some customer appreciation I would probably go back after a month or two but unfortunately, I will...
