In general I love me some Lizards Thicket, but as of 6-5-21 I will not “shop” or waste my funds at this location. I placed an order, was put on hold and was asked a second time what my order was which I repeated. Got to the window and did an add on… (which I know is frustrating, but no one was in line and we were pulling a boat) We get to the landing, and with the long day ahead I proceeded to eat my breakfast. (Was supposed to be Fried Boneless chicken breast, two eggs scrambled with cheese, and grits and toast)… Well my eggs didn’t have cheese in them (which I normally mix with my grits). It was too bland, even tried mixing gravy and I tried but it’s NOT what I ordered and it just wasn’t right. Everyone makes mistakes and I understand the person taking my order was new. It was NOT her fault at all since mistakes happen, but I did call back because I spent a good bit of money including a tip, and whomever this RUDE manager that was working was all but customer service and as smirky as can be!!! He went over everything and seen I guess I wasn’t charged for the cheese (big deal, I ASKED for it, and I would’ve paid for it, as I do any other time).. He said “well you couldn’t eat it at all?” . silence “well we didn’t charge you for it so there’s not much I can do”..so I just told him I’d bring it back and let them remake it as I am able.. I’m not seeking “free” food. Everyone makes mistakes, but make it right on the books.. Long story short…. I accidentally left it under seat in truck (as we were at a lake festival), and just realized., It’s mildewed now, but I’m gonna spend more in gas tomorrow to make a special trip to give them their stuff, and get what I paid for… I really am disgusted the way I was talked to, it’s like ordering a cheeseburger without cheese or pb&j without jelly… It’s the principle of the matter.. I don’t which brother is over this location, but I’m so thankful Knox Abbott gained a blessing from Airport… Whomever it is needs to do a little soul...
Read moreUsually I don't ever give a bad review unless I feel 100% sure that it absolutely deserves a one star. I don't even know where to begin where it went wrong, our waitress wasn't even friendly, kind or took the time to listen.
I really never come back to town usually is work related or family related. Being military I'm never really home as it is, and this is one of the main places I stop. Because it reminds me of home. And a home cooked meal.
But when your drink has been sitting there for 20 mins with know refill, the waitress walks pass you multiple times without stopping and plates are piling up. I believe you don't know how to do your job, sorry not sorry. The people beside of and behind us got their food way before we did and they came in about 15 mins after us.....
I asked for the Manager out of respect, to let him know the situation, but like-wise he could care less. I had the bill tossed at me, even tho I wanted to get my kiddos chocolate cake. He said he would take care of it and then charged me double. Are you kidding me. Not only did I have to send stuff back but then you don't take of your customer's. I will not be going back to this Lizards Thicket... I'll sick to the one in Columbia....
PLEASE GET YOUR PLACE AND RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS... IF I COULD RATE IT A BIG FAT ZERO "0" I WOULD...
AND don't be pissy bc I only tipped u .63 cent. You personally didn't...
Read moreOMG , don't know where to begin. My family and I traveled from Robeson County, NC to Columbia to visit the Riverbanks Zoo, which is a couple hours drive. We decided to stop here and grab a bite before heading home. The prices were very reasonable. A lot of southern style food was on the menu. As soon as the plates were brought to the table I knew the food was going to be disgusting just by the looks of it. The cabbage was way overcooked and had an unpleasant odor. We were scared to eat it. The mac and cheese was dry, clumped up, and very hard. The food tasted and looked as if it were three days old!! However, the tea was very good and the service was excellent! I am a southern gal, both my mom and I were raised on a farm. I know what good southern cookin' is and this ain't it!! Cabbage or any greens should not be cooked to death. if you overcook cabbage or greens, you are cooking away all its nutrients. Mac and cheese should be moist, not lumpy and hard. My family and I could not stomach the food. My kids could not even eat the food. No more Lizard's Thicket for me, I'll stick with the southern cooking from my neck of the woods!! By the way the Riverbanks Zoo...
