Let me start off by saying this was my first and last time ever going to this establishment. The food was actually delicious but that does not make for bad customer service. I work hard for my money and refuse to spend it where I am not respected. My family recently moved to the area and I was looking for something good to eat. This restaurant popped up in my maps and it has good reviews. Upon arrival, the cashier greeted me and seemed very friendly. She recommended some things and I told her what i do and don’t eat, so I decided to get a SMALL chicken cheesesteak. I told her I don’t eat beef no pork so this sounded pretty reasonable, and to make sure I get the small size since it’s my first visit and I don’t want to order a large and be disappointed. She said yes that’s makes sense. The small combo was $9 on the menu. I ordered onion rings with an up charge of $1.50. Cool. My elderly 80 year old grandma was in my car, so I asked for a to go menu. Cashier states they don’t have any but she can look online. I informed her no she cannot look online as she is 80 and doesn’t know how to do that and she is in a wheelchair so she doesn’t walk well. The “manager” asked where was I parked . I was maybe 4 cars down from the entrance. She states customers aren’t allowed to take the menu out the building. I started then to cancel my order and just leave but I said no I will just tell her what they serve. She recommended I take pictures of the menu and show her. I did that, came back inside, and placed her order. She said the total for my small chicken cheesesteak was $15.75. Before I tapped my card, I asked was that the correct price for a small. She stated yes. I was thinking maybe taxes or something. Upon looking at my receipt, I discovered it said BIG cheesesteak. I asked another cashier for confirmation of what I ordered. She stated I ordered the large because I asked for it. I told her no I definitely did not and to bring my original cashier here so I can see what happened. She came back over and INSISTED i changed my mind and asked for a large. There was no accountability at all. It wasn’t even a big deal. Just correct the mistakes, refund me the difference, and move on. The “manager “ and about 4 cashiers huddled over to the register trying to figure out how to process a refund. She pressed and button and said it was voided but the paper didn’t print a receipt. I was not trusting that because I have no proof in black and white of what she is saying and plus they did not look confident in what they were doing. I asked her nicely who do I ask for if I’m still charged. She stated Samantha. I grabbed my bag and she said wait and that I still have to pay for a small cheesesteak. I had enough and just asked could she put this in writing for my records. As she was writing me something, the original cashier and another cashier was writing secret notes to each other and smirking DIRECTLY in front of me. I honestly felt like they were trying to be funny. Why write notes? So at this point I had enough of the games. I expressed how I felt to the “manager” and she apologized. The original cashier just walked off like I was inconveniencing her. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for years providing customer service so I understand how dealing with the public can be. That is why I held my composure and handled it professionally. I am appalled at the lack of respect and empathy we have in this world today. Trust and believe I will never step foot in that place again. Yall...
Read moreThis was our first visit, we've never been to this or any other location of Hwy 55. So, naturally, we walked in, and with no signage directing the customer to either wait for hostess or seat yourself, we waited for some indication of the proper etiquette in this particular establishment. After standing there for a bit, right in front of two girls at the register showing no concern that a new party has entered and look unsure of the proper actions. I clear my throat and attempt to get their attention, one of them looks up halfway and gives a curt "you can sit wherever". We look at our options - of the 4 open tables, only one isn't covered in trash, but not the cleanest; or we could sit at the counter - not an option I liked for my young son and my short self. We sit at the haphazardly cleaned table and wait, very patiently. It takes a few minutes for us to get menus, then even longer for the waitress to appear. No greeting, no introduction - "Drinks?" It was obvious she didn't want to be there - either at our table or at work in general. When she brought our drinks, I had to ask my family if they were ready to order because she had no intention to. She appeared as though she was ready to walk away if I hadn't said that. It didn't take too long to receive our food, and while we were waiting, and nice man offered our table refills. Another nice young lady hastily brought us our food, but made no attempt to figure out what went with who, just set it in front of us randomly and left us to sort it out. The food itself was fine. Little to no seasoning on the meats, but not horrible. Throughout our meal, that same nice gentleman check on us several times as he was also tending to several other tables. He was working very hard and with a smile on his face - and was the only one doing so. We learned when we got our check that our waitress was MacKenzie (sorry, dear, if it is misspelled). The gentleman came and cleared our table and went to run our card. We made sure HE got our tip in cash, he was the one who earned it. (I'm sorry, we didn't catch his name as no one is wearing any type of name tag, but he was wonderful.) There were at least 3 girls that stood behind the counter the majority of our visit, doing the bare minimum until their shift was over while this poor man was killing himself taking care of the majority of the tables. So to summarize, the food was ok, and, with the exception of the waiter, the service was bad. I doubt we will return, but would like to urge management to work with their staff on customer...
Read moreI visited this location on Friday, April 21, 2017 and experienced absolutely the worst service! It looked like a zoo and seemed to be no adults present to supervise. One waitress was even taking orders with her child (maybe 7) working with her. First I stood at the register waiting to be helped for about 5 minutes and a line had formed behind me. Once the waitress returned to the register, she completely overlooked me and asked how could she help the guy behind me. He then clearly stated "she was here first" as he was pointing to me and I thanked him for being a gentlemen. She then rolled her eyes and asked if I had been helped. I say no and then order a snickers concrete and a sundae with heath bar and caramel. After she took my order, she then leaves from behind the register and go and clean a table. She then visits the customers at the table beside it and plays with their baby. Then she stops in the the middle of the restaurant and talks with someone for an extended amount of time. I then ask to speak to a manager but was told that the manager wasn't present. I then asked to speak with the person in charge. As I'm speaking to this person and explaining my situation, she (the waitress) then notices and walks over to start making my order WITHOUT washing her hands. The charge person sincerely apologized for the situation and said that she was new; however, being new doesn't justify being rude or bad behavior. He then offered for someone else to make my order and I agreed; that waitress was very polite and respectful! I have visited this location several times before but I will not return to...
