My husband and I walked in for an order to go. A weekday. They were not busy. We explained to the hostess that we were new to the area and it was our first visit. We had several questions and thanked her for her help and patience with assisting us. We sat down and patiently waited. And waited. And waited. And waited....I think you know where this is going. When we came in they were not busy, after we sat down to wait for our food two other people came in for take-out orders, then after a really long while a 3rd person came in was told their order wasn't ready. So we sat and smiled pleasantly. We waited and waited and waited. The second girl that was at the front desk, long brown almost waist length hair asked us for our name, she said she wanted to make sure we weren't kept waiting and would get our order as soon as it arrived. Well, a young man brought an order to the front counter, sat it down right in front of us and no one came in to claim it. The girl with purplish hair that took our order left and the girl with the long brown hair turned her back to us. I said to my husband, "I sure hope that isn't our order sitting there getting cold." We tried to get the attention of the girl with the long brown hair and we could see that she could see our reflection in the glass as we could see hers. When we decided to leave the purplish hair girl who had returned finally called our name as we approached the door to exit. No apologies from either girl and for some weird reason we felt like they did it on purpose? Go figure? We were polite, mannerly, thanked them did not behave exasperated by the wait. My husband said he thought maybe because when he prepaid for the meal he did not fill out anything in the space for a tip. Why on earth would we pre-tip waitstaff before seeing what kind of service we receive? WE are and always have been very generous tippers. The general definition of TIP is: To Insure Promptness. My husband had cash in hand to thank the purplish hair girl for her help with the menu and for the person that put the 'to-go meal' together for us. Where was management to oversee these two? Any management person had to see us sitting by the front door for over 45 minutes. We will never step foot in that restaurant again, we will never recommend it to anyone. We have lots of company and when we entertain we like to use a local restaurant. This was a simple take-out order when they were not busy on a weekday. I would be so disappointed and embarrassed entertaining a large party of guest with this kind of service. Note: to bad the attitude and service was a big zero as the food we ordered was excellent, and I would have loved to have gone into detail about all the items we order. It is hard to enjoy good food when the experience was soured by 2 employees that have no sense of what "customer service" means. This comes back to management for...
Read moreWe have been driving to the Redbank location because the food, in our opinion, was better than the Lexington location. But, unfortunately, after our experience this evening...we WON’T be going back. Tried to call in a to-go order just before 6:00pm. Every time the girl answered the phone she would say, “please hold”, which I did...EXCESSIVELY! I hung and called back a few more times, only to experience the same. Initially, I held for over 10 minutes and figured they must have forgotten me.
I finally called and a young man answered and I asked if he could take my order - he responded “no, not now, you’ll have to hold”...I explained that I had been holding over 20 minutes between my calls and he replied, “we are busy with people coming in and don’t have time to take phone orders”. I took the “high road” and told him I’d take my business elsewhere without being rude or angry (I wanted to say a whole lot more at this point!) and he said “okay”.
My husband was near the location so he decided to go by and place the order and inquire about what happened on the phone. He was told by the girl up front that “corporate policy” was the reason they handled the situation the way they did. As he watched, the young man actually took a phone order while she was talking to my husband “face-to-face” (which was supposed to against corporate policy she said). There were 3-4 people employees at the front desk during their conversation, so we don’t understand why the our order couldn’t have been taken. Also, he said they weren’t as busy as many times when he had been in there previously.
So...apparently they are too busy for people to matter and believe me, I’ve been to MANY restaurants that were extremely busy, but continued to give great customer service...but not here! Too bad...we won’t go back!! Poor customer service is a result of poor management!! There are too many restaurants trying to provide quality customer service and quality food and I will give them my business instead of to one that...
Read moreThe wings here and other food choices are definitely above average and the price point is just about right. The atmosphere is the reason for the average rating. For example during my last vist, as I was getting out of my car ( parked right in front of the entrance ) one of the customers that was standing at the entrance having a smoke with two other customers commented on how easily he could get in my car and I should just give it to him. He had obviously been drinking and about five 10 minutes later, just my luck the same guy came in and happened to be sitting at the spot next to me at the bar. The previous comment had caused the setting to be awkward because I usually can carry on good conversation with strangers at any bar. The guy that made the comment closed his tab just before me and I left about 5 minutes after he did. When I got to my car the door was unlocked even though I locked it and inside the center console was open. Nothing had been taken, so even though I was angry I wrote off the whole incident because I had a place to be and didn't have the time for the hassle. Needless to say I haven't been back since. The customer with the comments about being able to get in my car is a regular because the female bartender knew him most likely only as a customer. But it was obvious based on the conversation between the two that he was or still is a regular. It's unfortunate that a certain type of clientele can impact a business, but this is the case here. It is a family restaurant that happens to have a bar like most other family restaurants. The quality of the food is above average and service is friendly and prompt. But dinning at the bar like most of us single clients do is not a comfortable experience when other obnoxiously drunk clients behave in the manner in experienced and because of that I will likely not be dinning in at this place anytime soon because I seriously doubt my experience was an...
