Mr. Brews Taphouse: Great Beer, Disappointing Service. I recently visited Mr. Brews Taphouse and left with mixed feelings about the experience. I sat at the bar, where the beer selection immediately caught my attention. They have a fantastic variety of brews, and I started off with one that hit the spot. While enjoying my drink, I looked over the menu, excited to try one of their burgers. However, what followed left much to be desired. The bartender, who seemed to be some sort of manager--constantly giving directions to the staff--was always present but never asked if I wanted anything to eat. The bar wasn't exactly busy, with only two other patrons seated alongside me and a couple of tables occupied in the dining area. Yet, after finishing my first beer, I still hadn't been asked about my meal. When he finally came around to offer me another beer, I took the opportunity to order a burger. I asked for some suggestions, but the bartender wasn't very helpful. Thankfully, one of the servers standing nearby stepped in and gave me three solid recommendations. I decided on the Kentucky Bourbon Classic, thinking it was a fitting choice being in the middle of Bourbon country. The burger sounded great--cheddar cheese, grilled onions, two slices of bacon, french-fried onions, and Kentucky Bourbon mayo. It came with homemade chips, so I opted for those. Here's where things went downhill. I wasn't asked how I wanted my burger cooked, nor was I offered any other options or additional items. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but it didn't live up to the hype. The burger itself was good but not spectacular--comparable to what you'd find at a typical bar and grill chain. The chips, however, were a disaster. They arrived in a greasy clump, stuck together in one fried mass that I had to break apart. Oily and unappetizing, I could tell I'd be reaching for a Pepsid the moment I got back to my room. While the beer selection at Mr. Brews Taphouse is excellent and worth recommending, the service at the bar was subpar, and the food didn't impress. For the price, it was reasonable, but the inattentive service and the disappointing meal make it hard for me to recommend dining here. Stick to the beer, and you'll probably leave happier than I did.

We feel 2 stars is a fair rating, unfortunately.. The place looked clean enough. We visited on a game day and they were busy. We tried hard to be more understanding because they had a packed house. We did not plan or intend to visit for the game but we do like UK basketball. We had been shopping next door at Meijer. We found a table quickly, sat and we were greeted by our waiter, ordered drinks and food, arrived fairly quickly. The chicken ceasar salad was about what you would expect, its a salad. The burger was good, asked for extra, extra, extra onions and got 4 rings of onion. The onion rings weren't good and I didn't care enough for them to ask to be remade, would not order again. They were janky pieces and some didn't have any onion in them, just breading pieces and cold, not lukewarm but cold, looked like we had got the scraps from the bottom of the frying basket. We ordered boneless wings and they were dry and cold, we did ask for them to be remade. The second batch were more saucy but fried hard. We didn't finish those either. We asked for drink refills and I got unsweet tea in place of sweet tea. Every time we needed something including our check, we would have to run our server down. Our check was $50 +/- for 2 people. We could have got better for the money. We do not plan to return nor recommend, not our cup of tea, no pun intended. We really wanted to love the place since we are regular shoppers at Meijer and always looking for a place to eat.

We decided to come here because they have a kids. Eat free on Sunday special. I wanted a quiet atmosphere to watch the NFL game and this definitely fit. The service is friendly and fast. However, the food is less than desirable. We ordered an appetizer of smothered homemade chips. The chips were so thin that they were basically little crunchy pieces of grizzle. The cheese was not cheddar, but almost like a combination of cottage cheese and cream cheese melted together and glopped on top. I got the chicken wings and they were good. My son got the slider in fries. The fries were soggy and mushy. They do have a wide selection of craft beers if you are a beer drinker. I was impressed that they also have a few liquors because often places that have craft beers do not serve liquor. They have some video games for kids to play which is nice. The prices are fairly reasonable however, I do not find myself going back here because the food is less than desirable. Follow us for more great reviews ™

To Mr Brews Taphouse since the email you gave me does not work.

I’m the guy that left the one star review you told me to reach out to you. The service was pretty good. However, I ordered the chicken sandwich. I asked instead of getting a side of fries if I can get a side of cheese curds. The guy that was working the bar at the time was nice and friendly said he would figure something out. My food came out and I got the cheese curds. I’m guessing a smaller portion than what you would normally get for the appetizer. As that was my side. However, I realize later that he had charged me for the appetizer plus the sandwich. I paid full price for an appetizer that didn’t even have probably the full amount of cheese curds that I want would’ve normally gotten. I didn’t actually get a side with my sandwich as I thought that was to be the cheese curds and I was just going to pay an up charge for it. I don’t think it is right to charge someone for a sandwich plus full price for a side and then not even get an actual side for my meal. I paid for the sandwich with no side and an appetizer. Plus, I’m assuming the amount of cheese curds I got because it wasn’t that many was the amount that you would give someone as a side not the full appetizer. I hope you can understand that would be pretty frustrating if that happened to you while at a restaurant. Again, the overall experience outside of being overcharged for food was pretty good. I do not know if I be back. Plus sending your email and it not working is...
