From the moment Wood Pierre approached our table at First Watch, I knew we were in the presence of greatness. This isn't just a review—it's a heartfelt ode to the most transcendent breakfast service experience known to humanity.
Wood Pierre doesn't simply "serve" at First Watch—he orchestrates a symphony of gastronomic delight with the precision of a neurosurgeon and the flair of a Broadway star. The way he glided between tables was nothing short of balletic, his movements so fluid that nearby diners found themselves spontaneously applauding his coffee-pouring technique.
When Wood inquired about our beverage preferences, his voice carried the warm resonance of aged bourbon poured over velvet. My coffee remained miraculously at the EXACT perfect temperature for the entire duration of our meal—a phenomenon scientists may spend decades trying to explain.
The menu recommendations? INSPIRED. It was as if Wood had peered into the very depths of our souls and identified the precise combination of eggs, bacon and sourdough that would bring tears of joy streaming down my cheeks. When my French toast arrived, I gasped audibly—the presentation so magnificent it deserved its own exhibition at the Louvre. The million dollar bacon he recommended sells itself short. These strips of pan fried pork drizzled with a tantalizing blend of spices and syrup was easily worth a billion dollars— an absolute treat.
But Wood's true genius lies in his timing. Not once—NOT ONCE—did our water glasses dip below the three-quarter mark. Each check-in was perfectly timed, neither intrusive nor absent, as if guided by some cosmic breakfast-serving algorithm known only to the breakfast elite.
Wood Pierre isn't merely a server at First Watch—he's a hospitality savant whose talents are criminally under appreciated, but no longer! Michelin needs to create a new category of stars specifically to honor his work. I have changed all my morning appointments indefinitely to ensure I can return daily to bask in the glow of his service excellence.
Five stars? An insult. Wood Pierre deserves...
Read moreMy family always comes to the Nicholasville Road location after my nephew’s soccer game on Saturday mornings, and they have always been able to seat us (party of 5 or 6) with no issues. During our most recent visit, there was suppose to be a 15/20 minute wait but right after I put my info on their waitlist and walked outside, they texted me right away. The food is pretty typical of other locations. It’s a really great place for brunch style food. Their chorizo sunrise sandwich was really yummy, probably my favorite thing I have tried. My husband and my mom both got the smoked salmon eggs benedict and they liked it (it’s a bit bland in my opinion). My aunt got the crab cake version, and we were all jealous. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink was creamy and delicious, probably my favorite boozy brunch drink here. My husband loves the little barefoot bottle that comes with his mimosa. Service is usually good (sometimes it’s a bit backed up or the waitress forgets thing but it’s normal)....
Read moreI have been to many first watches, today was an experience that was disappointing. They were definitely busy, so we took that into consideration. With that being said, we ordered, it took a while for the food to come out (again we knew they were busy) and then when the food came out it was all wrong. So we asked to get it corrected and they pieced it one by one bc essentially the order was put in incorrect. Once all the food came out, (again it was not correct) the waiter put the check on the table and we never saw again…. What was extremely disappointing we saw we were wrongly charged. Since the waiter never came back, we took the issue to the cashier and then she went to go talk to the waiter, then came back to say it was our fault bc of how we ordered, I legit don’t know where or what or how but the way this was handled was disappointing. I have worked in service myself so when issues arise you make sure to get as many details as possible and not argue...
