Mr. Kabab — Restaurant in Lexington

So I've heard and read nothing but rave reviews on this place! The only bad review that stuck out to me was with one of the female order-takers! And how people have had issues with her not being engaging and attentive while customers placed their orders. Well, I got a first-hand experience with this lady when I placed my to-go order. Everything I was asking for was met with silence. I had to ask if she got my order. After repeating several times I suggested I call back! Thinking there was a bad connection. Even after I called back, she still was very unengaging and I still was repeating my order. I asked her if she was ok! I asked her if she was new. She said she'd been working there for 2 years. And assured me she knew what she was doing! I told her that her customer service skills were terrible and that I wanted to speak to the owner when I got to the restaurant to pick up my order. Then I ask her if she was going to ask me my name. She said no and that their customers in the restaurant would be served first. When I got there there was a young lady that waited on me. She looked to be possibly the owner's daughter. I asked her if she had taken my phone order. She hesitated to answer. And when she said no, she said she overheard the other lady taking my order. She said that she thought the other young girl did a fine taking my order as she was wearing a smirky smile saying this. It was plain to see that she was taking up for the other girls' poor behavior. I then asked to talk to the owner, which I did. As I was explaining the situation the other girl interrupted and was talking over my conversation with the owner the whole time. She said she was sorry I was having a bad day, which I wasn't. She continued to try talking over me as I was talking to the owner. As if trying to cover up for her bad behavior. The owner listened to my complaint! I told him she was unengaging and rude. Seemed very withdrawn by not listening to me trying to place my order. The young lady as I was leaving made a rude comment about Kentuckians. I was wearing my camo jacket. So she was stereotyping me as a dumb hillbilly, which I assure you I'm not. I own a successful business here in Lexington. And I would never have this type of young lady employed by me. I told the owner she needed to clean up her customer service skills. And learn to be attentive and engaging. I will not be back ...

First time here but have been to other Mr. Kabab restaurants before. Ordered the Lamb Kabab Platter... Firstly-the staff was pleasant and the place was clean... But! When I got to register I announced it was my first time there and asked for help with choosing from the menu. I wanted lamb with a salad, pc of bread and garlic sauce. And a coke. Platter#1 add the bread. The cashier said they would bring it out-it was around the lunch time and a bit busy. So I went and sat down. Food came with no bread, no coke and no silverware. When he dropped the food off I only noticed the missing bread and asked the gentleman who brought my tray about it and he said he'd get it. When he didn't come right back and I had nothing to eat with I went back up to the register. The cashier pointed to a self serve station part the food.... Grabbed a fork... So this is where the drinks are... I went back and asked for a cup for my coke. The server handed me a bread bag with one slice of bread in it and said here. Now equipped to enjoy my meal I went back to my table. When I went to cut my Lamb I couldn't cut it with the fork-it's so over done that it was hard-too hard to be cut with a plastic fork-I went back to the self service area for a plastic knife. Rice was bland, garlic sauce was runny and my salad was drowned in 1/2 inch of water/not dressing... I did check. I bagged everything up and left. Very sad. If your wondering why I didn't say anything at the time. I was just so disappointed and didn't want to make a scene if I got started. I'm not a Karen just a lady who loves good lamb...
