Olde Well Tavern — Restaurant in Lexington

Well, my wife and I and cousin Carol Sue went to this tavern around the corner from her house. Well, we got seated right away. Our waitress is very loud and very abrupt we were ignored for 20 minutes and then she rattled off what we get with each of our meals. So we get our meals which was very quickly and we ate. I had a ribeye sandwich. The ribeye was juicy and soak the bun. It was bigger than the bun. It was hard to eat well in the middle of my meal. I picked up my glass of beer and dropped it accidentally onto my food in the floor along with A1 sauce all over my shirt, my pants and my he totally ignored us for probably 10 minutes, which comes over and acts like nothing ever. Nothing happens and like to put the order in or something on her computer and my wife told her that we need some napkins there has been an accident. She threw some napkins on the floor and asked if we want will check. There is no let me help clean that upstairs. I’m sorry this happened you sir. Can we help clean up now? I got was are you finished? You want your cat and I’m caring I will never use this place again ! It could be that the place was understaffed so he was overworked and not happy about it so I just happen to be the one that she took it out on. We had lunch here for the first time this past weekend, and had an overall excellent experience. The quality of the food here was really enjoyable - it's bar food, but well done bar food with some nice little touches that you wouldn't find in a lot of places. For example, this place sells mini corn dogs as an app, and they were a fun and yummy treat. They have pizza egg rolls that are really delicious as well, and my only criticism of those is that they were slightly overcooked. We got a sampler of apps to try including those two things, and some fried pickles as well. The fries pickles has a great taste, but needed to be cooked just a minute or two longer to be perfect. Our entrees were fabulous - the pimento cheese on my burger was great, and the burger as a while was perfectly cooked with fresh toppings. Fried okra was unique in shape, well seasoned, and with a wonderful light batter. My husband's chicken strips were fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and the tater tots were awesome. Their sauces - ranch, honey BBQ, and ghost pepper - are all good additions as well. Amazing hidden gem. My husband and I had food here after staying at an airbnb nearby. We aren't from the area, so we google searched a place to go and stumbled across here. We ordered several items off the menu and also had several adult beverages. Love the variations in the tap options as well as mixed drinks. The cheerwine beer they had was a very nice specialty beer. As a Carolina girl who loves Cheerwine, it was interesting to try. I had one of the BEST cesar salads I have had in a long time. The croutons were magnificent and tasted as if they were made by hand. I also ordered a steak and wings. They were amazing as well. The steak was extremely good and cooked to perfection. Honestly, I couldn't believe how well this steak was prepared given such a modest place and price point. Better than some I have had at fine dining resteraunts. Our server was amazing and offered us the BEST southern hospitality. Made us feel right at home and welcomed. Offered recommendations.
