Panda Panda Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Lexington

Our family is fairly new to Lexington and we finally decided to try to find our go-to take out Chinese place. After researching several places in Lex and surrounding areas (Tyro, Denton, Thomasville, ect ) we thought we would try this location first because of the reviews and is the closest to us. I'm excited to say, we lucked out on the first try! We have found our go-to Chinese takeout. We have lived in various cities/states over the years and have had some good Chinese takeout, however, this is the best we have had in a long time. We ordered online through their website and it was so easy. The only issue was I didn't get a confirmation email or text despite putting in my information. Luckily, they got my order and it was ready by the time I got there which was nice! The lady that handed me my order was very nice. I live in rural Lexington and because of the way they package the food to go (which is the best I've seen) our food was still hot by the time we got home. The portions were enough for us to have tons of leftovers. This time around we tried their Orange Chicken which had great flavor and generously coated in sauce. Chicken and Broccoli which is my husband and daughters favorite, both said it was the best they ever had. Black pepper chicken cooked to perfection. Horrible experience! Bugs in my water! Not once not twice but 3 times!!!!! I did not get any consultation the waitress gave me the same dirty big water when I asked for a new one. I know because there were lemon particles in the water from a lemon I previously squeezed in there and I left the lemon at the rim of the glass and she gave me the same lemon on there as well. The first cup had a small black thing in the water and that made me realize the big in there, the second cup she brought me had the two bugs, this is when I asked for a third cup and saw that it was the exact same cup but it had one bug instead of the two! By this time I was very upset so I told her I wanted my water in a to go cup and made her leave my previous bug water at my table so I could be sure she would not just pour that same water in a new cup. After all that the food was mediocre. Over all the waitress was rude, no one apologized and the restaurant was dirty. (I do not know what kind of bugs they were but they looked like baby clear roaches, if I could add a picture I would, I had to put a star in order to post this but I don’t think they deserve...

Just over two years ago this was the best Chinese restaurant around, got new owners about two years ago and it’s been downhill from then. They done away with some of the best food they had , raised prices and no longer have small and large size of anything,just large. They refuse to substitute anything even if you’re willing to pay for it. The thing is the new owners worked with the old ones for at least 6 months so they new what a successful place this was, usually had to wait, now you are lucky if there are 5-6 cars on the lot at once. You used to go sit at the table and the came and took your order and brought it to you on real dishes and got free drink refills, now you walk in and order at the carry out counter and carry your food on paper plates to a table and eat, they do not come by to see if you need drink refills or if you may need anything else.
