My family (visiting from out of town) and I came into the restaurant (party of 5) for dinner on 12/23/2023. Two of us have dined here twice before in the past and we’ve had great experiences with the service and food both times; hence why we came back.
However, tonight was not a good experience. Two of us ordered the salmon dinner and we were asked how we like it cooked (most restaurants do not typically give you an option in my experience) so we both asked for “medium” because it was explained it would still be flakey and not raw, but cooked and not over cooked. One of us received our salmon cooked right with pink (typical cooked salmon flakiness) and the other salmon (ordered the same way—“medium”) came out and was still raw with slimy pieces throughout the middle of the salmon, so there is no consistency with how the salmon was cooked. The waitress (who was really good and very personable— her name was Cheyenne) immediately apologized to us when we showed her and she had the manager come over. The manager, Crystal, came by with an annoyed look on her face, explained to me that their salmon is sushi grade salmon and she had an attitude with a disgusted look on her face when I turned down her offer to replace it with a new salmon order. I politely declined it and told her I was so turned off that I would just appreciate my meal to be discounted, as the majority of the salmon was not eaten once the slimy raw parts were observed. Crystal never apologized, walked off with the plate of salmon, never came back to our table to explain if and what the discount would be. We chose to continue on and not let it ruin our family meal.
When we got our bill, I saw that I was only given a “$5.00” discount on a $19.99 meal that was hardly touched. Unreal!! Especially after the way Crystal made us feel when trying to bring to her attention how the salmon was not cooked like the other one because it was still raw. The manager was very rude and unprofessional and then the final slap in the face was only giving a $5.00 discount on a meal that was hardly touched.
Unreal! I’m am in utter disbelief and disappointment that this is how your customers are treated at your establishment by management and most likely will not be back due to this experience. It’s a shame because this was NO reflection of the waitress as she was very apologetic (she was very good and personable —very refreshing now a days because that is hard to find!), but the way your manager presented herself in this situation was appalling.
I know it’s the holidays and everyone is overworked and tired, but perhaps, if she (the manager) can’t even “try” to provide basic customer service to her customers, she should look for a new job or industry to work in because she lacks these skills as a manager. If she treats customers like this, imagine how she probably...
Read moreJust wanted to start off by saying our waitress was incredible. She was very friendly, went above and beyond for us. However, My best friend and i both ordered filets. My best friend which is pregnant, her filet came out and wasn’t cooked enough, i mean there was blood on the plate and to be honest it was just a bad piece a meat. When you order a filet you expect it to be somewhat decent and cooked correctly. No big deal, Told our Waitress about it she took it back like i said no worries. Our waitress brings the filet back and this time it was cooked way well done. At that point my best friend was okay with it and told the waitress i don’t want it and to not worry with it. We continue with our dinner enjoying ourselves until The Manager decides to get involved. Comes to our table and instead of being like a “manager” and being professional. She was doing nothing but trying to pick a fight with us. We were being so nice about the situation but the manager was so rude to us, we completely lost our appetite. She says “Well what do you want me to do about it?” and we told her to not worry about it’s okay. Trying to diffuse the situation. In disbelief what happened… 10 minutes later the manager comes back with the same steak we sent back, Gets in the booth beside my best friend, gets in her face grabs her flash light from her phone and says “ you may not be able to see cause of the lighting but that’s medium, honey.” and being super confrontational to my pregnant friend. In front of the whole restaurant. Everyone is staring at us at this point. my friend and i just look at each other and couldn’t believe we were being treated this way. We have came here numerous times and never been in this situation and have never took a steak back. My friend told her “i don’t really appreciate you treating me this way, i do not want the steak thank you.” The Manager storms off with the plate and steak and went towards the back i watched her from where i was sitting and i kid you not this woman threw the plate and steak! This woman was absolutely unprofessional and unhinged over a steak! After the manager threw her tantrum and hid in the back for the rest of the time. Two of the waitresses came up to our table and Apologized for her behavior! Now if that doesn’t tell you something then i don’t know what to tell you. Anyways we live in lexington but we will never be back. For a manager to make a scene and be so unprofessional. So disgusting. Anyways if you go to texas steak & tap house if your steak comes out raw or over done keep your mouth shut and don’t send it back the manager will...
Read moreI've been by here several times over the years but have never been in. However, I was near by & the aroma of steak lured me in. Went to eat around 6:30pm First impression: seemed a Lil chaotic. Very fast paced. Entrance area lighting is dim but I'd say to be expected. No wait and seated quickly. They offer homemade croissant rolls with a homemade brown sugar butter. You are given enough rolls for each person at your table; after that there is a charge for extra rolls. Also added charges for extra sauces or dressings. I did see they sale the butter which is worthy of purchasing to take home. Waitress was moving fast and at times made it difficult to get her attention or have to wait till she passed by. House salad with ranch dressing was noteworthy because I cleaned my plate; that doesn't always happen when I get a house salad. Croutons were different, soft not crunchy. It's a steak house of course your going to order steak. My mom and I both got the rib-eye. Asked for medium to medium rare and I did appreciate the waitress staying to see if the inside was cooked correctly. My mom's was not and it was graciously sent back. Only issue was I tried politely waiting till my mom's plate returned to continue to eat. I eventually started eating bc my food was getting cold. Steak was seasoned and no "sauce" was necessary. Yet I did notice what seemed like more salt on items ordered. Like the croutons, outside of baked potato, and the steak. This is just a personal FYI bc I don't use salt & if I do its typically used in moderation. Noted separate area on the way to the restroom that had a bar and additional seating & t.v.'s Restroom was clean. Plenty of handicap parking up front. As we left the parking lot was getting much fuller. Meal for house salad, 2 steaks with 2 sides each around $80-$90, not including tip. I tried it after all these years, not sure I'd go back. I don't really care for additional charges on something as simple as a piece of bread. I understand inflation but what you spend in total seems like you could get an extra cup of dressing at no cost. Food was salty for my taste, that might be something they can address or its just how things are cooked. Also to have to wait for another steak as long as we did when it wasn't being fully cooked seems not necessary. I typically half up my food and eat the leftovers the next day. I didnt on this one. I recommend trying it because everyone is different on their personal...
