I attended lunch here during one of Lexington's Second Sunday events so you would you think the restaurant would be staffed appropriately. However, there were only two servers working, one of which seemed to want to ignore our table completely. Although they open at 10 a.m. on Sundays, they did not have tea available at 11:45. That should have been our first sign that this might not be a great experience. There were two people at our table and we both ordered sandwiches and waters; not complicated. However, our food took almost 45 minutes to arrive. We both requested sides of guacamole and were willing to pay extra for them. The server said she would see if they had guacamole. I saw it listed as part of another menu item so assumed it would be no problem. When the food finally arrived, no guac. Kind of expected at this point but asking for it seemed like a moot point. The BLT that was supposed to consist of "crispy bacon piled high with lettuce and tomato on texas toast with mayo" came out with a small piece of lettuce and one tomato on only one half of the sandwich. Only bacon the other side. No mayo at all. I asked for a refill of water before the food came to the server who took our order. She walked by our table three times and did not refill the water. I asked the other server who refilled. After our food came, I requested a side of mayo from the original server. Again, she walked by three or four times with no mayo so had to ask the other server. Not once did anyone check on in on us or make any eye contact. I had to grab attention each time I made requests. Perhaps we received poor service because we arent' locals. I'm not sure b/c every other table seemed to be taken care of. I was a former server so I try to be a low maintenance customer and I was polite in my requests each time. It looked like it could have been a fun environment but the long wait time and sub par food and...
Read moreI was visiting friends in Lexington, and we all went to Ten Twelve Main for dinner on Saturday night. We had a MARVELOUS time! Kudos to Natalie for taking my reservation; she was welcoming and friendly and let me know about a slight change in hours of operation for the evening. And I have unfortunately forgotten the name of our server (she was wearing overalls as her costume, if that's helpful), but she was equally wonderful! Many thanks to her and the rest of the staff for their hospitality to our group, even though we got a little boisterous in our conversation. :-) Our food was EXCELLENT; I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, which was DELICIOUS, and my friends had the mushroom swiss burger, the classic burger, and the grilled cheese sandwich with turkey. They all agreed that everything was fresh and tasty. Ten Twelve offers a full bar, and my friends each had beer (one Yuengling and two Boulevard drafts), which were a perfect pairing for their meals. The restaurant is located in the original bank building downtown, and you can still see the original architectural details in the front façade, the high interior ceilings, and the preserved bank vault at the back of the dining area. For a casual experience with excellent food and service, you can't beat Ten Twelve Main! I'll be back, the next time I'm...
Read moreWas just looking for a small bar/nightclub in our small town to hang out. It was nice and quaint. Not crowded at all but all the tables were full and the bar. I asked if they had any non-alcoholic beer and he said he would check. Ten or so minutes later he still said he would look. Then our friend mentioned that Budweiser had a true non-alcoholic beer they had crafted. It was a very good tasting beer as well. We stayed rather late in the evening till around 11.30. I ordered a patty melt Medium Rare. The owners of the bar own there own meat processing plant to I knew the meat was fresh and safe to consume medium rare. It would have been however if it would have been cooked medium rare. It was way over cooked and not seasoned at all. It was on marble rye wich was good, bit you need to stand out in that kind of market. Swiss cheese and few grilled onions. And it cost 12.00 and no pickles included. To be special put it on double stacked marble rye grilled cheese. That would...
