Tremendous! This place is a must if you enjoy good food and good beer like I do. I’m so glad such a place exists. First off the atmosphere is very nice and colorful with beautiful murals and comfy chairs. It’s a well utilized smaller restaurant so it has a quaint feeling without feeling crammed and on top of one another. Ideal for a nice date night or for a group of friends. Very large L shaped bar with plenty of room to eat at the bar if you choose that over a table. The waiter was attentive, quick, and not over bearing so that was a very nice aspect to the evening. He even took our entire order without writing anything down and it all came out exactly as we ordered it, very impressive. Our food arrived promptly and was hot and very fresh. To me this establishment is a fusion of traditional Indian and American pub foods. I had the lamb kebab smashburger. I’m a sucker for lamb but I’m also a tough critic when it comes to anything lamb. This is a must order menu item if you enjoy lamb. Absolutely delicious! You can tell all the food is freshly homemade original recipes. There was three of us and we all got multiple drinks (6 at least), an appetizer, additional sauces, and we each got a whole meal. I truly expected the bill to be much higher but again I was surprised at how affordable this whole evening was. All three of us left very full, surprised, and so happy this gem is close by. I will gladly come back to this establishment whenever possible and I’ll definitely spread the word. The chef even came out to check on us and receive feedback of our food. I haven’t had good service like this in a very long time especially from a place that cost so little. I implore anyone to give this place a try. Worth every penny and can’t wait to go back and try their other items but I will admit it’s going to be difficult not to order the lamb kebab burger again. So good. Also if it means anything, I don’t give reviews unless the place really impresses me. Please give it a try and see if you enjoy it as...
Read moreThis is by FAR one of my favorite spots and I will be recommending it to EVERYONE. If you are hesitant, PLEASE try this place out! I promise you, it will not let you down. The atmosphere & the vibe was really cool, modern, hip - I loved the space. They have a beautiful colorful mural, bright open space. You are immediately greeted with waters but what I loved is that the staff first asked if we wanted ice w our water. This is lovely bc Im very picking with getting ice at restaurants bc ive learned that A TON of places dont clean the ice machine which is usually filled with mold so I REALLY appreciated that small gesture of asking. (This place is fairly new so their ice machine is super clean, haha). Our server was SO kind, lovely. You can tell that he really cares about helping the customers have a great experience. He was so hospitable! I see like you dont really find that in restaurants. We got Samosas (Probably my favorite I ever had at a place), Butter chicken, biryani & naan. This is my FAVORITE Butter chicken & Biryani I EVER had. (The naan is amazing but we all knew that). I recently had butter chicken elsewhere but it didn't hit the way they make it here. Also, I learn that they made their own HOMEMADE SPICES! When the staff put that much care into the food and take that extra step(s) to make homemade spices instead of just simply buying it at the store just for us? You can taste how phenomenal the food is here. PLEASE check this place out. You will NOT regret it. Out of all the new places ive checked out this year, this is one of my top favorite places. You can feel the love & care they put into this establishment, with their customers & the food. PLEASE check it this place out, I am SOOO happy we have this spot in this location. Thank you to the amazing staff, you REALLY impressed me. I'll be...
Read moreGreetings my Foodzies, today we went to 4 Jokers (Rutiv said that when him and his three brothers were growing up in India, people in the neighborhood gave them the nickname of jokers, they were poor, but dreamt of having a restaurant so when their dream came true, they named it 4 jokers) ; 8347 w Grand Ave. in Rivers Grove. I met the owner Rutiv who is very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming at Taste of Elmwood Park (which by the way is a great way to preview foods from local restaurants) when I tried their Philly steak sandwich, we had it again today. The sandwich was delicious, I would have liked the bread toasted to a crunchy element but was still a good sandwich. For an appetizer we had Samosa (similar to an empanada in concept) this was filled with peas and potatoes which were seasoned nicely and when accompanied with the turmeric sauce was awesome. The turmeric sauce added spice and a new level of flavor. We also tried the marsala fries, they were regular crinkle, cut fries, but with a special flavor of marsala; also very tasty. I ordered the Goat Curry marinated goat cooked in a homemade cashew gravy. I also ordered garlic naan which was phenomenal; the goat was season well and very tender, it also came with Jeera which is a light rice that you can literally sprinkleon the curry instead of being clumpy like regular white rice. Using the naan as a vessel to eat, the dish, took it to a whole new level. Glenda tried the mango lassi, which is basically a shake made with mango, ice cream, and shaved almonds on top. That drink was cool and refreshing. We will definitely return to this restaurant, there are a few more things that I would like to try. I give this restaurant 5 stars, Ciao Ciao for now. please give it a try and let me know...
