The service was great and they had live music which was neat. However we got sat in the back weird addition and it was cold and not decorated. Just paint on the walls, no pictures. Almost like it used to be a storage room or something. The food wasn't great, but not terrible. Kind of like going to eat at your friend's mom's place and she thinks shes a great cook. Everything was a bit bland. The red sauce tasted like it was out of a jar and super thin as ypu can see in my picture of red water in my bowl. The gnocchi was EXTREMELY over-sauced. Neither pasta tasted fresh or like the water was salted. The piece of chicken with the chicken parm was a good size, but tasted like nothing. The chicken wasn't seasoned, the breading wasn't seasoned, they didn't even hit it with salt when it came out of the fryer. The cheese on top was bland. All in all $70 for 2 pastas, 2 roasted garlic heads, a dinner salad, a cup of soup, glass of 6.00 wine and a piece of tiarmisu. Which didn't have the cocoa powder on top even though it was "handmaid". I know prices are going up, I don't expect to get 2 meals for under $50 anymore, but I'd like them to at least be good for that price. I've had better pasta at Olive Garden. I heard great things but left disappointed. We won't...
Read moreThis food is always amazing. We got the Italian greens and Hot Peppers in oil that CLE sleeps on & is always a motivator to travel for. I got a new-to-me-dish, the mahi mahi with quinoa salad and asparagus. It came with an unbelievable dressing that I could drink from a fountain if it were to exist. I also had a salad instead of the soup because I saw I can add a fried ball of goat cheese, which I will NEVER pass up. This did not disappoint as it was exceptional crunchy outside, warm inside, and so flavorful. Hubs got the gnocchi in vodka sauce added two meatballs and was satisfied with his meal. The bread is good too and comes with great herbed butter. Our waitress was helpful, pleasant, attentive, and efficient. Besides the weird set up of the place when you do find a good seat, it can be cozy. We sat outside with cute lights and real ferns in very comfortable chairs. We didn’t want to sit in the front of house because it’s open and slightly awkward like your front and center. We’ve sat in the back area and that’s good too. I can’t recommend it enough and will tell any of my group to come from Cleveland to Girard for nothing...
