Avoid at all costs . I am not usually the guy to do reviews on anything I don’t like , I just don’t go there again … but this place is the exception .
First red flag should have been the waitress not endorsing any of the food. She wouldn’t recommend anything , and commented that this was the busiest it had been all night ( we were literally the only patrons in there ) which should have set off alarm bells because there is zero chance we were going to receive fresh food . You know the owner isn’t stocking the establishment just for little old me To come in.
Second red flag was not receiving the typical Chips and salsa but instead receiving chicharrones ( it is a stretch to even call them that) that had less than zero flavor , and well.. made me just want to go find a real Mexican restaurant to get chicharrones .
Whatever , we order appetizers and I made the mistake of ordering their mexican spin on poutine , which equates to fries with a disgusting amount of salsa verde ( again zero flavor which is astounding because it was the most flavorful thing we received ) and the fries were 1. Cold. 2. SOGGY not like just a tiny bit but wet mush . I attached a picture .
Finally I ordered their house burrito , and I swear it looked like the inside of a babies diaper ( I attached a picture ) , and the taste was something I will think about for atleast a decade . The chicken tasted rancid , which to be fair gave it more flavor than probably intended . It was soggy , flavorless; and I had higher quality food when I spent the night in jail .
I gagged , and dry heaved my entire car ride home . I spent 70 bucks . This place will not be open...
Read moreWe all know when a restaurant is new its a little bumpy to start. That can Def be said about this place. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a Friday night (being new and Friday) I expected a little wait. We sat at the bar and just ended up ordering food there. We ordered the salsa trio, and the cheese dip to start. The salsa trio came out first and pretty quick. I can't say I liked it at all..as you can see in my picture the one "salsa" was more like a Chilli oil rub, it tasted liked dried peppers, it was chalky in texture..I think it would of made a great marinade or add to the cheese dip. The verda was like water it did not stick to the chip so really was not a salsa just a sauce. The third one was Def more of a salsa but nothing remarkable. As for the cheese dip could not say..it never came, even though we asked about it twice. It was removed from the bill. I ordered the three taco meal. Three two bite tacos, 1/4 cup or rice and beans for 18.99. Super pricey. The rice and beans had no flavor! The shrimp taco was battered but was to thick and came off chewy. The pastor taco wasn't bad but I miss the traditional onion and cilantro..the pineapple made it soggy causing the shell to become gummy. Barbacco basic no real flavor. My boyfriend got the burrito it was pretty full and even though it has both the beans and rice in it, they still gave some on the side. His was the best bang for the buck at 12.99. Over all two people chips and salsa (which you get free every where else) 3 tacos one burrito 3 beers and it was 78 with the tip...way...
Read moreStopped in because we knew they had a patio. When we entered there was no sign to say wait to be seated however there was a sign to say the patio was "closed due to storm". It never rained that day, never a chance. We were sat at a booth that had a large step up so we could not use a highchair for our daughter, we had to put a booster seat in the booth seat, which would be fine but there were not straps so I had to hold my arm over her lap the entire time. The food was really good! We enjoyed everything we ordered. The server was very nice but needed reminded of the one beer thar was ordered. Not a big deal! It was just us and one other table of two around 330pm. The building is special to us because it's where we met so we will make the trip back to girard again to try it again. Hopefully the patio will be open, otherwise we will see if they have a regular table so we can use a highchair so I can have two free hands! We had the beef nachos & queso appetizer, we shared the birra tacos with beans & rice (it was great, I definitely recommend), and the cinnamon waffle with ice cream dessert. They had $2 domestics on Thursdays. We really liked our food, everything tasted fresh! Thank you! The artwork inside was really cool too. The restroom smelled good & was clean apart from the air vent that was covered in dust, but I see that alot, it's something that gets missed often. Overall, we are happy with out experience and hope this place stays busy enough to stay open! The patio is a major...
