Mama Empanadas — Restaurant in Lilburn

If You are going there to dine and enjoy the empanadas I will not lie her empanadas are top knotch. This review is for her catering services, I ordered a large catering order for my 130 person wedding on 3/3/2023 , specifically depending on Fanny for my cocktail hour. When the time of my order came around nothing was made , her excuse was she made a mistake on her end and had the date for saturday instead of Friday. As a bride she ruined a huge part of my wedding , causing my wedding guests to eat donut holes during cocktail hour . Fanny eventually arrived with my order and was very apologetic according to my wedding party and team. My biggest issue is that we have been attempting to contact her several times Because she promised 50% refund since it was her mistake and we are being ghosted . There is no way I can reccommend anyone to a someone who runs her business in such manner , doesnt matter how good her food is. I have been nice and patient waited 2.5 months to actually review this business because I was still trying to process the fact that she handled a wedding order in this fashion. I ordered through Uber Eats yesterday. I was craving REAL Dominican empanadas so I thought to give this place a try based on the reviews. It's good for Gwinnett county. It's overpriced. My sister had the vegan option vegetales y queso and its $4.50 for 1 empanada. She wasn't wowed or impressed, just satisfied. The Tartitas de Plantano was worth $10 but I ordered ceviche and got chicken so that killed the mood. It was still good. The chulitos are really good but $3 for 1 was ridiculous. The meat isn't tasty enough for that. The Pollo and Res (ground beef) are both $4.50 way too expensive for 1 empanada that was ok. I think because so much flavor missing from this area that the slightest bit of seasoning and freshness excites us. These tastes like somebody's aunt makes them the best in her family. After complaining about my cold empanada, she proceeded to charge me for it at the register. If I didn’t speak up I would’ve been charged. Me and my gf each ordered one and hers came out fresh 10 mins later. When asked why mine was cold, she proceeded to say that hers was cooking longer, which was a lie. I can tell I got leftovers. The prices at the register did not match the menu and I paid more than I should have still. The atmosphere was unwelcoming when walking in. No regards or manners for a proper dining experience. We ended up losing our appetites because it started getting too awkward. Will never come back.
