I recently had the pleasure of having Shalimar Kabab House cater a wedding for us, and I cannot express how delighted we were with both the food and the service. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect!
We kicked off our event with appetizers that set the tone for the entire evening. The Chatkhara Malai Boti was incredibly flavorful, tender, and left our guests craving more. The Tawa Samosa Chat was a delightful fusion of crispy and tangy elements, and the Dahi Bhala provided a refreshing and creamy contrast. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail.
The dinner menu was nothing short of spectacular. The Chicken Biryani was perfectly spiced and aromatic, transporting us to culinary heaven. The Mutton Korma was rich and succulent, with a depth of flavor that had everyone raving. The Beef Nehari was tender and bursting with traditional spices, making it a crowd favorite. For our vegetarian guests, the Palak Paneer was a creamy, savory delight that did not disappoint. The Tawa Mix Grill offered a variety of grilled meats, all cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
Dessert was the grand finale, and Shalimar Kabab House did not disappoint. The Rabri Kheer was creamy, sweet, and an absolute indulgence. The Falooda was a refreshing and delightful end to our meal, leaving our guests feeling completely satisfied.
Not only was the food incredible, but the service was also impeccable. The team at Shalimar Kabab House was professional, attentive, and ensured that everything ran smoothly. They truly went above and beyond to make our special day memorable.
I wholeheartedly recommend Shalimar Kabab House for any event. Their exceptional food and outstanding service will leave you and your guests...
Read moreWe ordered takeaway at this place yesterday. Having treated a visiting Muslim friend last year at Iftaar time and having had a great dining experience, I was eagerly looking forward to yesterday - as it was a celebration take out.
Our order was small - two Leg pieces of Tandoori Chicken, a Kadai Gosht and two Whole wheat rotis.
All three were a disappointment.
The Tandoori Chicken did not have any other flavor than Chillies. (We prepare Tandoori Chicken at home and we are familiar with not only the marinade's ingredients but also the process.) The chicken was NOT marinated long enough. The piece did not have any cuts on the surface to enable the marinade to infuse the pieces internally. Result? The surface had a coating of a marinade whose only dominant flavor was red chilli powder - but the inner pieces were just meat with NO flavor of the marinade there. THAT IS NOT HOW TANDOORI CHICKEN SHOULD BE.
Next the Kadai Gosht. At $19.99, it was over-priced - especially when rice has to be ordered additionally. Then the meat itself - it was very tough and did not seem to have been tenderized. The gravy was tasty but extremely oily - I decanted more than 2 tablespoons of floating oil and trashed it.
Finally the Rotis - the top and bottom were roasted but the middle layer was just dough! The dough seems to have been removed from the refrigerator and rotis crafted and stuck in the tandoor - resulting in the surface getting cooked but the middle layer remaining raw.
The mango lassi was the ONLY item we ordered about which we did not have any complaints.
The chef seems to have changed since last year and this is the last we will be visiting Shalimar -...
Read moreAmazing authentic food as always. (Rabah & Hiah Barghouthi husband/wife): I would have believed some of your experience if one of you posted. Wife posts 17 hours ago, husband posts about the same thing 6 hours ago. What's wrong in this picture? Both people venting out anger of their lives and projecting it on the restaurant. No reason to state negativity twice. It feels like an exaggerating reality perceived by two individuals that need marriage counseling more than criticizing desi food. Your review would believable if both of you didn't post. One spouse is projecting into the other's negativity. I am licensed on this matter, reach out to me, it's hard to be seen in public doing this. My family, friends, a lot of people who come to this restaurant can say how good it is. The reviews speak for themselves. There are days where service can improve, food could be better, but most days it is on point. Do not let your survival minds get the best of you. Don't pour over something in your life into a excellent family owned restaurant. Let's talk less of other people's food recipes and service, and let's talk more about the underlying issues in a marriage. What that recipe is sounds more of a spoiled broth. Wish you the best and start loving life and people more. Yours truly, Self...
