The Garden State Grill — Restaurant in Lillington

TL;DR : Great food, great people, great atmosphere, and great service. GO THERE!

My Dad and I decided to go out to lunch one Saturday about a month and a half ago. We first went to sportzone, it was loud, crowded, and the wait was going to be an hour. With that restaurant crossed off our list we were trying to figure out some place to go. We couldn't really agree on anything so we both decided to try something new. I suggested Garden State Grill, neither one of us had ever been there before and it looked nice. The second we walked through the door we were met with a smile and felt welcomed. We were sat at our table almost immediately. We ordered the boardwalk fries as an appetizer, he got the jersey burger and I got the seaside heights sandwich. We were so happy with our food we were both grinning ear to ear the entire time, we almost forgot to talk to each other. It was one of the very few times both my Dad and I really liked a meal. It was such a great first experience, and it was nice to just sit at the table and talk. It didn't feel like most restaurants where to the staff your just another table to get in and out. The atmosphere there makes you feel relaxed and welcome, like your a regular at a ma and pop restaurant. We paid, tipped, and left with leftovers. And trust me, we couldn't eat another bite by the time we left. The food is a little pricey, but honestly it's worth every penny. The portions are great, and you leave feeling full and content. Since then I've been back 5 times with friends and other family members. Each time I went I tried something new on the menu and always left full and happy. At the end of each meal I leave with excitement thinking about what I'll try next. And at the time of writing this review I'm just getting back from there after a fantastic dinner with my Mom. if you have never tried this restreuant in LIllington NC before called the garden state grill I highly recommend that you check it out because the food there is great for one of my favoirite places to eat at in lillington NC. one thing that I have to say about the service there is that they are very friendly and welcoming to all of the coustomers and willing to answer any questions that you may have regarding on what to choose from the menu or any questions that you may have if you have never been to this place before. one thing that i have to say about the atmosphere of the place is that it's very welcoming when you frist walk into the restreuant and overall it's just a wonderful place to eanjoy a great meal with your friends and family at a great restreuant in Lillington NC area. let me tell you about my experince from last night when i went there for dinner it was amazing and our server who was taking care of us she was great and deffiently will be returning in the near furture. one thing that I have to say about the parking there is that it's free parking and they have a lot of parking spaces and you don't have to pau for parking like you would have to pay for parking if you parked in a parking garage or a parking structure where you would have to pay for parking in thoes types of places. one thing that I have to say about the cleanliness of the restreuant is that its very clean and organized and they don't have a lot of trash or garbage around the restreuant they keep the restreuant very clean and organzied. in my conclusion if you are looking for a great restreuant in the Lillington NC area that offers an amazing experience and wonderful service and a great price then you need to check out this restreuant called the garden state grill whenever you are in the Lillington NC area and looking for a great place to enjoy a great meal with your friends...

Our family ate at the Garden State Grill after visiting our daughter at a nearby University. We had our new puppy since our daughter hadn’t met him so we were very excited they would accommodate us on the patio. The hostess told us to seat ourselves and brought out no menus and no silverware. 😟 Our waitress was very kind but relatively new. We ordered our food and the waitress was apologetic for the wait we were experiencing afterwards which we didn’t mind. When our food came out it looked delicious and everyone was happy except for my youngest daughter. Her chicken sandwich came out grilled when she thought it would be fried. We had seen it on the menu and told her it was a choice of grilled or fried and buffalo or regular. She told us the waitress didn’t ask her so she just assumed. That was a teachable moment for us, so we taught her what to do in the future. When the delivery waitress came back with some dressings we had asked for, we told her what happened. She told us she would be happy to get it remade for us, but it would be about 15 min. We said we didn’t mind. Our regular waitress came to check on us and we told her briefly what happened. She apologized and told us that was her fault, she just thought it was a grilled sandwich. No problem, right? Well, when we got our check we had been charged twice for the sandwich. While we don’t think that was right since the waitress said it was her fault, we learned from our mistake of not double checking what our family had ordered. No manager visited our table to check on our dining experience so we left a note explaining how we felt with a 20% tip since we knew our waitress was learning. It’s likely we will be back since the food and atmosphere was good. We also would like to recommend this restaurant to others traveling (especially with pets) but please take heed if you have any problems...
