My family and I have been long time customers of Chopsticks and tonight we were extremely disappointed in the poor food quality, and lack of good service. The overall quality of the food and service has plummeted in the last few years. Despite knowing the quality has decreased, we decided to go to Chopsticks for dinner to give it another try since it hasn’t ever been horrendous. We ordered a grilled teriyaki salmon, and were served a fried teriyaki white fish, which we make our server aware of. This took around 15 minutes to “remedy” and the $16 salmon that was subsequently served was minuscule and extremely overcooked. Our hibachi chicken was also very dry.
We informed our cashier of the order coming out wrong and then the salmon being wildly overcooked, to which she said “I’m sorry” which is not how you solve issues in the food service industry. You don’t serve someone the wrong dish, hesitate to fix their order, then serve something inedible and just say “I’m sorry” to remedy the situation. Here is how you should handle this: handle the miscommunication swiftly and gracefully, with a sincere apology. Do not, however, wait until the rest of the table has almost finished eating to serve the corrected dish. Then, after taking that long to get the dish out and it coming out terribly cooked, you should comp part or all of the cost to attempt to make up for your poor service and quality. “I’m sorry” will never suffice when you mess up this badly. They had multiple opportunities to fix this, none of which were executed successfully.
I truly will not come back, which is sad to say as a long time customer who has loved Chopsticks in the past. This is an extreme let down to what Chopsticks used to be. Please save your money and go elsewhere if you’re looking for good quality food and great...
Read moreI have been coming to this great locally owned restaurant for over 2 years. With so many new people moving to the area I figured this would be a good time to leave a review.
I do a mix of dine in and takeout every. I get food from here almost every week.
Like the many reviews before mine have stated:
The food is really good and always tastes fresh. I've tried a little bit of everything and have not been disappointed with a single dish I've tried. My favorites are: Spring Rolls and potstickers. Hibachi dishes (tofu, chicken, and steak). Orange Chicken / Tofu.
Lunch special prices are really good! The dinner prices are very reasonable as well! Try finding a Japanese restaurant in Apex, Holly Springs, Cary, or Morrisville where you can get a Hibachi / Teriyaki entree between 11-14 dollars that includes a salad or soup!
I've had no issues with service! The waitresses have been very friendly each time I've been there. The lovely girl who works up front and takes the phone orders and greets customers is really nice and remembers who all the regulars are and what we order!
Something I like with them is that when placing phone orders they are always clear on the phone and repeat my order back to make sure it was taken down right. Then I'm told the final price. Many places don't do the above these days (which I've seen create problems at different places).
If you're new to the area and love Japanese food, definitely give this place a go! I know most people will add Chopsticks to...
Read moreI was not very happy with my experience here at Chopsticks. First, when this business was Hibachi and Company the food and atmosphere was so much better and the service was beyond excellent.
However, this restaurant is awful! The food was not good. I went with three people and we each got different things. My food was the Thia Coconut Curry and while it was good the service was horrendous. Our waitress did not know the menu when we were questioning about new items on the menu, she did not return to ever give us a refill on drinks, and when I was looking for her to come to the table she was standing on her phone at the counter not doing anything. And as a matter of fact, there were about 6 waitresses there and all of them were up front just chatting away. This entire new staff is awful and prices shot up too. For all three meals it was almost $50 and there are much better options to eat than this place. Above all... I am very disappointed because I went to Hibachi and Company on the regular basis and this is nowhere in the same ball park. I may try this again in the future but as of right now this place needs to get...
