Flour Shop Bakery & Pizza — Restaurant in Lincoln Charter Township

I've tried a variety of stuff from here; it's all excellent. The Bavarian cakes are where it's at though; the light, airy, less sweet sponge cake, with the absolutely delightfully whipped filling. Vanilla Bavarian cake with raspberry filling.... absolute perfection. The cheesecakes are also of the dense, heavy, very filling variety, so if that's your jam - they're worth a try. Notable mention to the little German Chocolate cakes, which I also have to get if they have any in the display case.

Regarding some of the lower starred reviews: yes, the place is a bit of a hole in the wall. But you're here to pick up baked goods, not bask in the ambiance, so I cannot fathom why one would knock off stars for that. If I had to pick a favorite bakery, it's this one for sure.

Oh, but as a side note.... The "& pizza" part of the Google title is a lie. They may have done that years ago, but they do...

My family has been looking in the area for a wedding cake for my upcoming wedding. We got a recommendation to come to this place for a cake earlier today. We walk in and are met by someone standing behind the counter. He offered no hello and no help whatsoever. My family and I tried to ask some basic questions about wedding cakes but were just told that we had to setup and appointment to do anything but we were too late to setup one today (1 hour before closing). We are from out of town and can't easily come back. No sort of help or assistance was offered and they weren't busy with anything. Very rude and disheartening experience especially since we were trying to give them good business. Do not recommend. Will go with the much more accommodating and helpful...

2nd time I've ordered a Bavarian Cream bday cake from out of state with no issues and lots of yums from birthday girl and guests. I was fortunate to be in MI for this bday and that cake was ahhhhh-mazing, definitely didn't disappoint! Requested a design from cupcake section for an additional charge to decorate the cake and it was done to perfection, lots of oohs and ahhs when taken out of the box! Thank you Flour Shop! Ok, I didn't stop at just the cake when running in to pick it up...grabbed a blueberry cream cheese pie, éclairs and cannoli. Likely would've purchased way more if they weren't close to closing time.
