El Toro Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lincoln

Food was pretty good but the service was horrible. When the waiter first came to our table he took my order for a drink and my boyfriend was undecided so when he brought me my drink, my boyfriend ordered his at that point we ordered an appetizer and our food. We waited and waited while he walked back and forth and eventually came out with all the food including the appetizer. I had to remind him about my boyfriend’s soda he forgot. I also didn’t understand why they didn’t bring us our appetizer first like most restaurants do. My boyfriend specifically asked for NO BEANS and his burrito was full of refried beans. When I mentioned it to the waiter he says “oh he didn’t say he didn’t want beans” I said yes he did! Can you remake this? Then he says “well he gets mad when we have to bring the plates back “ and my boyfriend told him that’s not our fault! What does that have to do with us ?! So he hesitantly brings the plate back and tells us he’ll give us a discount. He finally brings the new burrito out and it was made correctly but at the point, we weren’t even hungry anymore. He eventually brought us the check and the discount for the burrito was not on there. My boyfriend asked him about the discount and he hesitantly says “okay I can give a discount for you” then brings the check back with the discount. He also messed up the lady’s order behind our table too! So I definitely will not be back here and would not recommend this...

We are regulars at thw El Toro location of the family owned Mexican food restaurant chain, and the chain is of several restaurants with different names like El Toro and LA margaritas are a couple. My experience when coming to El Toro has always been wonderful especially with thw server a gentleman named Alex. He is always working hard and continues to be the most genuine politely positive and diligent worker along with thw whole team of servers and bus boys and the cooks. I bring my two children with me because it is not just I who enjoys thw service and food but also my toddlers because they are also terrific at serving my children with kindness and patience. Alex specifically had waited on us several times and always remembers exactly how me and my family enjoys our food even if it's been weeks in-between visits to El Toro. The waiters especially Alex deserve some sort of bonus or raise from the owners or managers. We will always cherish this specific location El Toro. To the owners thank you for knowing the right kind of people to have on your Staff in every location more specifically El Toro. ...

We arrived at El Toro at 7:30 pm. Their website clearly states that they close at 10 pm. At 7:30 they told us that they close at 8 and they could not take any more customers. We stood outside and watched 2 groups, of which people that we know be seated. We then walked back inside, and they sat us without acknowledging our previous conversation. As we were seated and ordered drinks, they said they were only running on cash only. As they said this, I watched a man pay with card within 5 minutes. We asked and we were told we still had to pay cash. We decided to walk over 5 minutes to the nearest atm and come back. When we got back with cash, they then told us that their kitchen was closed, so we were unable to get any food. We had our drinks, and they told us they are now closing at 8:30 and all our drinks need to be to go. Very disappointed, would not recommend. Plenty of good mexican restaurants in Lincoln, including Copal, El Caparro, and El Potrero. I’ve been to these restaurants, and would recommend...
