I read the reviews and decided to drive across town to give this a try. Walking in the door it was pretty lack luster but I decided to still order. The girl behind the counter was asking me what I wanted to order and I tried the special which was garlic chicken. I asked what vegetables came in it and she fumbled around to try and tell me looking under the counter as if there was a hidden ingredient chart. She thought there was mushrooms and I said OK no mushrooms but she still didn't mention one other vegetable. Anyways I paid it was $9 which was not that cheap for lunch I thought but came with soup and a drink. So she forgot to ask me what kind of soup I wanted so I told her then she forgot my drink, then my straw, then my silverware...goodness anyways..food came out quick opened the box it was loaded with mushrooms which I ordered without....so I got up and handed them the box and said I ordered no mushrooms in this, the owner and the girl working there kinda looked at me like oh yes...so they made another one ...oh yeah this is suppose to be a review on the food...I'm getting to that just giving you the whole experience....the garlic chicken was pretty good although dark meat is not my favorite and I found the small chopped up vegetables to be on the cheap side almost a filler. There was no nice whole pieces no broccoli but I did not care for the rice, found it to be bland and not very good. The soup was pretty good although better is served around town. The crab Rangoon that came with it was pretty bland too not much flavor. Also no one apologized for making my order wrong even when they brought it out to me I said thank you they just looked at me. I'm not sure if I will return based on the first visit probably not. Food was mediocre, service was so so, price not great, my special of the day was not near as big as the plates of other food I saw come out, the soda was horrible tasting watered down, place kinda ran down, staff not too friendly and girl at the counter was wearing crappy shorts and a T-shirt that looks like she slept in...be...
Read moreI love this place. It does not try to be 4 or 5 star but in 24 years in my neighborhood Rolling Wok is a family Restaurant that is always busy at supper time and Always help me to get in & out with happy TO HELP AND A Smile. I don't get out much but THEY HAVE ONE of BEST PB Chicken sauce in town as their's is NOT OVER SWEET and only competition in that has been Golden Palace or in the past, Thai House. They are always polite and will accomodate your flavor preferences if you ask. So many Chinese Restaurants have come and gone over last 30 years but Rolling Wok has stayed as their family wants to cook what you like and not pretending to be fine dining just Good food and Peanut Butter Chicken is a Traditional Lincoln Dish many think we are goofey as where else can you get it? Started by an old mom & pop Greasy spoon on 9th street by the City County bulding and they yelled at EACH OTHER creating a crazy Atmosphere as he or she might even throw a pot in he other's direction if a mistake was made yet they stayed a long long time until late 1980's as they needed to retire but it was always busy until almost blind and HAD to close. I am a disabled person who has been in on Knee Scooter, Wheelchair and on crutches from a loss of limb. Some Menu Dish's are different at different restaurants. Cannot compare a whole Restaurant Menu for a single dish that was not to your flavor. It Only takes ONE DISH being made better than other Restaurants that item to keep customers and Rolling Wok has enough to get their share of business and put their children through College. I have NEVER HAD A BAD DISH. A couple X's chicken tendon or gristle on a piece in the 24 years I've lived in the Neighborhood. KEEP ON COOKING ROLLING WOK. -James- ["the missing leg Patron who talks too...
Read moreRecommended! Family favorite of my in-laws and rightly so. I do love treating my wife (or at least my excuse) with some Peanut Butter Chicken and Crab Rangoon. This dish has caused me to seek it anywhere I go. Theirs is still best. This appears to be a family operation, and I do enjoy the usual counter staff. Also, Carry-out is one of the fastest I've ever experienced without the food sitting already made. Food always warm and fresh when I pick it up. The is also a comfy dining room, but not overly fancy, so no jacket needed. Portions are really decent especially for the price. No cards are accepted, bring cash or remember your checkbook. Due to the Mall location you may not be able to park directly in front, but there are dual ramps and more than ample bicycle parking for those who...
