I am absolutely delighted to highly recommend Goldenrod Pastries for their exceptional professionalism, artistry, and incredible talent in creating our wedding cake.
From our very first consultation, the team at Goldenrod Pastries impressed us with their clear communication, creativity, and attention to detail. They took the time to understand our wedding vision, offered thoughtful design and flavor suggestions, and ensured every element of the process was seamless. Their professionalism and genuine enthusiasm made the entire experience enjoyable and completely stress-free.
Our wedding cake was an almond cake with buttercream frosting, and it was nothing short of perfection. The design was elegant and timeless, complementing our wedding décor beautifully. Each layer was moist, delicately flavored, and perfectly balanced in sweetness — the kind of cake that made every guest go back for seconds. The buttercream frosting was light, smooth, and absolutely delicious, adding the perfect finishing touch to an already exquisite dessert.
The Goldenrod Pastries team handled delivery and setup with flawless precision, ensuring the cake was presented beautifully and ready right on schedule. Their commitment to quality, artistry, and care was evident in every detail — from the flawless presentation to the unforgettable taste.
For any couple seeking a bakery that combines refined craftsmanship, incredible flavor, and true professionalism, I wholeheartedly recommend Goldenrod Pastries. Their work is as beautiful as it is delicious, and they truly go above and beyond to make each couple’s vision come to life.
Thank you tremendously to the entire Goldenrod Pastries team for your exceptional work, creativity, and kindness. Our almond wedding cake with buttercream frosting was absolute perfection — both stunning and delicious — and we’ll cherish it as one of our favorite memories...
Read moreI am not writing this review out of anger and this is not a rant. With that being said, I was very disappointed with my experience at Goldenrod Pastries. I have Celiac’s Disease and a dairy allergy and my two year old has a gluten intolerance. We frequently went to Goldenrod because we loved to go there to get delicious pastries we could both enjoy. The pastries are still delicious. In my opinion there is not a better place to find allergy friendly treats.
However, my issue was with the attitude of the employees. They boast on being accepting of all, however, I did not get that feeling. Instead I got the feeling they are friendly and accepting of you if you share the exact same beliefs. Personally, I do not believe the masks are necessary. But, out of respect for the mayor’s mandate and Goldenrod’s decision to require masks before the mandate, I wore a mask. I was friendly and respectful asking the employees how they were doing, thanked them, and adhered to all of their requests. Their attitudes did not match mine. I was there with my two year old and infant. At one point my mask slipped down so it was no longer covering my nose, but still my mouth. Before I could even fix it an employee looked horrified and told me, “Masks are required to cover your nose and mouth here.” In a very rude voice. I was aware of that because of the many signs even before you entered the building. I was doing my best to follow all of the rules while making sure my children where not getting in the way of anyone else.
Overall, the employees embarrassed me and made me feel uncomfortable by their disapproving looks. I will no longer be going to Goldenrod, not out of anger or to strike, but simply because I do not feel comfortable going there. As I mentioned, they boast they are accepting of all, however, I certainly did not get that...
Read moreMy husband and I moved to Northeastern Kansas not too long ago and have been on the lookout for Vegan baked goods. We don't mind driving, learning the area and trying out bakeries and Goldenrod was no different. My sweet husband thought he'd order a white with chocolate icing Vegan cake for my birthday as a nice treat. He drove about 2 hours each way to pickup the cake. When he initially got it from the bakery it looked perfect, he said. He kept the cake in the A/C for the ride home, but was saddened to see it had shifted by the time he arrived home. He thought it was something he did. No worries, we figured, it would still be good, right? Cut the cake - it was okay. Flavor-wise, its not one I'd get again (pretty bland), but at about $30 + travel, I was determined to finish it. I sincerely felt the cake was not truly Vegan we as well, but I cannot be sure. I just know what my stomach/body tells me. The husband was pretty upset over the whole thing and emailed the owner, Angela, to express his concern over the presentation of the missing layer. My husband, Angela and I had a good exchange back and forth and came to an agreement on a refund, to be sent by mail. It was that or a replacement cake. I wasn't able to make it back to Lincoln, NE due to an upcoming surgery (that put me out for weeks afterward) and wasn't really looking forward to having another 'meh' cake. It has now been a few weeks and we have not seen a reimbursement of any kind. I emailed Angela for a follow-up, and I realize she is busy, but I haven't heard back yet. The whole thing is just really disappointing, especially since I felt like it was a lot of money for not. I'll stick with MudPie Bakery in...
