I have been one of Stauffers costumers for as long as I can remember. However, since it has changed hands, I have experienced a decline in a very important area of the business. The PERSON who seemed to be in charge ( more about him later). While sitting at the counter, after ordering a chicken fried steak breakfast, in which I ordered my eggs over easy (they came hard) white toast (which came burnt). I decided I wouldn’t make a fuss over the eggs, but politely requested an other order of toast (it never came). Previously! I had experienced a steak breakfast in which I had a very tough time chewing the steak. Decided? Probably should not order that steak breakfast again. The straw that broke the camels back, was when I asked for consideration on the returned toast. It was embarrassingly minimal, So now I have decided not to patronize that establishment again NOW, of the operation? First of all, the gentleman who seemed to be in charge. Seemed to be more interested in putting out more plates than the quality of the food on the plate. While Watching and Experiencing his attitude towards the business, I was not surprised of the embarrassing minimal deduction of consideration he gave AND! not even an indication of an apology. In reality. No stars just marked 1 so as to have this input. This would be embarrassing to previous owners. Btw. The young lady who waited on me, was a complete and total sweetheart. Lord Bless her for...
Read moreSecond visit within a month and half-ish for dinner and second time experience was really below par. Was very busy for a weekday night and doesn't seem they have a lot of servers (only saw one main waitress for our half the restaurant on our visit). As such, service was a bit slow and bit absent/inattentive outside taking our order and bringing out the food. Food was very bland and lacking any seasoning and flavor. One member ordered breakfast plate with hash browns and due to equipment issue, they couldn't do hash browns. Understandable as things happen, but instead of checking with the customer on if they could substitute it out for anything, they piled on sliced potatoes (a la potato au gratin-ish?) that were semi fried (very soggy middle) and plopped on plate. Not overly terrible, but customer probably would have opted for something else or changed their order. As mentioned, second time around trying dinner and leaving generally disappointed. Overall, not the worst diner location/experience, but definitely not the best either and will probably be choosing other locations when in the mood...
Read moreFamily Breakfast! Kids had never been to Stauffer's before I don't think. My husband had a classic Breakfast Combo. Over easy eggs cooked perfectly, great toast and hand cut hashbrowns. He did wish the bacon was a tad crispier but had no problem finishing it off. I ordered French Toast for the first time on Cinnamon Bread! The bread was fantastic but it was also slightly underdone for my liking. Side of yummy Scrambled Eggs.
Kids both wanted Eggs and Pancakes and we were told they could sub out the toast on any menu item. Great deal! Their food disappeared very quickly. They also finished off my whole plate and his remaining hashbrowns. Pretty sure the 6 year old (the only one who'd eaten that morning) ate more than any of us.
Our server Jessika was awesome. Incredibly attentive! Never had bad service at this place. Great small town Diner feel. Great place to bring the fam. When you come to Stauffer's you're supposed to get pie. Kids had a birthday party in the afternoon so I told them we had to skip it this time 😕. Pretty sure they already have their selection lined up for the next...
