I have been going to this Sonic for 10+ years, so it pains me to have to write this. I'm not sure if there has been a change in management or something, but things just seem to keep going downhill for this location.
Where do I even begin? Two days ago my boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick "lunch" before he had to work. Well, that turned into the worst customer service experience that I have ever had in my entire 21 years of life, and I have been a server for 5 years, so I know how things work and I usually cut people in the service industry a lot of slack because I have been in their position, but this was just unnecessarily bad service.
We intended to just go through the drive through, but it was closed due to reconstruction, so we pulled into a stall and pressed the red button to order. Then we waited 5 minutes, then we pressed it again. After 5 more minutes of silence, another car pulled into the stall next to us, pressed their button, and sent in their order. So we tried pressing our button once more, to no avail. Then, another car pulled up on the other side of us and immediately got service.
I was getting a little fed up, but I figured that the stall must be broken or something, so we waited until another stall opened up (because they were pretty busy) and we moved. You can guess what happened next......we pressed the button....no service, not even acknowledgment. There was a food runner who was serving the car next to us, so I said nicely, "Excuse me, we have been waiting here for a while and no one has taken our order, and we sat at another stall for like 10 minutes pressing the button and nothing happened, while the cars around us all got service."
She replied "Oh yeah sorry, we only have one computer right now and it's pretty busy. The people in 12 haven't gotten service yet either. I'm sure it'll be soon," and promptly walked away. At this point I was fuming, so we left and went to Amigos.
There are a few things that could have been done to resolve this situation, had these Sonic employees been properly trained in CUSTOMER SERVICE: They could have come on the intercom and said something alone the lines of "I apologize for the long wait, we are just running a little behind. If you give me just a few more minutes, I would be happy to help you," or any sort of acknowledgment, really. The employee that I stopped and talked to could have sincerely apologized and took our order, but no.
Also, the past few times that my boyfriend and I have eaten there, our food has been mysteriously flat, like it had been sat on or something. I usually get a grilled cheese (because I'm a very picky eater and I have certain things that I like at each place, the grilled cheese from Sonic being a lifelong favorite) and my boyfriend usually gets a burger, sometimes a double. About a month ago, we got our order and my grilled cheese was completely flat, and his double burger was about as flat as my grilled cheese. We still ate it, but it was disappointing.
This location also constantly gets our order wrong, for instance, giving us the wrong item or not even giving it to us at all.
In conclusion, this location is just horrible. Even though I live right down the street, I will probably make the trek out the the North location from now on in hopes of better service, because the food is pretty good when it's not sat on.
So yeah, DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT HORRIBLE SERVICE AND...
Read moreOk so I went there last night 6/29/18 and given it was busy so I was expecting a wait of about 30 mins I get it. 10 minutes later the car hop popped out and said sorry about the wait as you can tell we are busy, 15 minutes after our order was taken and paid for it said on the screen our chicken tenders and shake was on its way out. This notice disappeared about 5 minuets after that. 15 more minutes roll by until finally a car hop realizes we hadn’t gotten food she then went inside and returned to tell us they lost our order. Upon ringing it back in they then forgot half of the order making us reorder a third time, and then tried telling us we were going to have to pay again! After waiting for 45 mins I decided to tweet about my experience due to loss of order and wait. A full hour passed before I received my food with only a quick sorry from the car hop, so I then complained to her and asked for a manager, the manager sent her back out to us to say there is nothing they can do for me. So I replied the the car hop to tell her boss that I’m going to write a google review and all of a sudden there were discounts galore. I went on my way then without talking to a manager because for whatever reason they couldn’t come talk to me. The worst part of it all was then being direct messaged by an employee (Kaylee Bohaty) on twitter telling me how I don’t know anything about fast food or customer service though I myself work in service and have for years. All I gotta say is I shouldn’t have to wait over an hour for a shake and some chicken nuggets only to get ridiculed by an employee on social media. Read moreIm very disappointed by the fact I've had to come back to edit my original 5 star review for this place, but it appears that things have changed. Its very disheartening. I'll probably never come back. We drove half way across town (11 miles round trip) to waste $32. Where do I even begin? First off they weren't very busy at all. There were 3 other cars there when we pulled up and they must have been there for a while since we never saw the waitress take food to any of them. It still took over a minute to respond when we hit the order button. We got our food and left. A few blocks away my wife ate one of her mozzarella sticks and it was cold. My large order of onion rings ended up being a small bag that had two rings and a medium bag with 4 rings. WTF is this sh*t?!? Next we noticed that my wifes medium strawberry shake had no strawberry flavor at all. My large Oreo cheesecake mastershake had a strawberry flavor to it that made it taste completely disgusting. We had ordered a kids meal for our three year old and it didn't even come with a toy. How nice of them. We finally get home to eat our Super Sonic Double Cheeseburgers - Mayonnaise style, and just when we can't feel any more disappointed by our experience with this restaurant, they out do themselves. These mayo style cheeseburgers had no mayonnaise. So basically we wasted time, gas and money for a great big giant let down. Every aspect of our meal was messed up in one way or another. Next time I want a Sonic cheeseburger I'll just go ahead and flush my $32 down the toilet and save my time and gas....
