Ordered take out with my wife. We decided to order only sides as we do not eat meat and so we ordered rice, beans, and fries. Low and behold when they finally hand us the food the total came out to $14. For three sides, at a Spanish restaurant. I have lived in Northern Jersey my whole life from North Bergen to New Brunswick and I can promise you I have never had this happen to me and honestly I could not believe it could be a thing. The standard circular take out container was filled half way with plain white rice. A 6 oz container of beans that were borderline oily and then finally to put the cherry on top a container of fries that were suppose to be made fresh already soggy and clumping together, not a bit of crunch. I want to be devil's advocate and say that the main dishes featuring meat may be better but for an order composed solely of the cheapest sides on the face of the planet $14 was robbery. I did in fact contact the restaurant and explain my frustration which led to a discussion with the helpful and understand front house worker, some woman, and she then proceeded to have a conversation with her boss in the background which I was able to both hear and understand since I am Hispanic. He told her to tell me to come back in to fill out the container of my rice but honestly I couldn't even go back since I have a sense of pride and would like my business to end with this review, a meal I begrudgingly ate, and the hope that others in the situation of looking for a couple small things since it is around the corner to not bother and simply looking for cheaper alternatives for something like rice and fries.
