CUSTOMER SERVICE: My first experience was today and I will not be returning. Upon ordering, I felt like the cashier who seemed to be the owner, not sure, was more after increasing the price of my order than worried about what’s best for the customer. For example, instead of offering a kids meal for a 4 year old, he suggested I’d get a complete platter for $14. Same as for my order, I wanted a fish platter for myself. He suggested to order the Mega fish platter, which makes no sense for one person. I told him that was too much food and asked for a lesser platter. I also ordered a sweet tea and specially said 1 sweet tea please, he said 2 or 3 sweet teas? Smiled and told me that he likes to always upcharge. Was not funny to me because why on earth would I go to 3 sweet teas for one person. So I wasn’t very fond of that.
FOOD: I ordered candied yams, Mac and cheese with fried Whiting. My food was cold, the fish must have been sitting out because it was chewy and Soggy. Yams were not candied to me at all, more like sour and plain. The Mac was okay, maybe would have been better if it was hot. My sister ordered Cabbage and did not enjoy it. Chicken wings was not great flavor, and was also cold and soggy as if it was sitting out. I don’t plan to return. I was upset after spending $30 for two platters. Read moreIt was our first time at this soul food resturant and the customer service was horrible. We will not be returning!!! We waited for 20 minutes before anyone asked us to take our order and that was after my husband said something. It seemed as though Timothy was more interested with talking to females that came in, or talking on his cell phone. Finally, we ordered our food and decided to sit and wait inside. Where we sat we could see in the kitchen area. We noticed that the employees preparing the food did not have on hair nets or gloves. They have you pay for your food up-front, if we would have seen the kitchen area first we would have left. It took 25 minutes for our food to come. This place is not organized and when it was time to pickup your order that was chaotic. Once we arrived home and tasted the food and that was horrible too! So disappointed!! The sauce for the ribs was drenched in ketchup and hot sauce, the pasta for the Mac and Cheese tasted as if the starch was not rinse off, the sweet potatoes had too much nutmeg and the potatoe salad was store brought and not homemade. He brought our food to the table and the food was great..my second time here a different chef looked like he was irritated that i ordered fish because its made to order. The customer service from Brenda was absolutely horrible! She is loud and ghetto. She was rude when i told her i wanted the catfish instead of whatever comes with the mix and match combo she said "it wont be that price its an upcharge!" I said "ok thats fine"..so as i was sitting to wait..she yelled my name to come get my food..i went to the counter and she was putting food in a bag..she said in a nasty manner "this is not yours, its his"! ( talking about another customer) So i walked away and she yelled "come get your food Brittany!" I said "the last time i was here someone brought us our food so i didnt know if that was a "thing"..my food was cold once i got it because she was focusing on fixing phone orders before she called me up for my food..her delivery and the way she talks to customers.. she should not be the face for anyones business! Moral of the story is i will not be returning....
