Let me start by saying I was excited to try out Apolis but when I walked through the doors, I felt the negative energy. Workers didn't greet me or were they smiling, seemed like they hated their jobs. I placed an online order and it was ready on time but when I checked my food because I drove 30 min to try on Apolis, I noticed my pineapple mango Pico was not in my chicken plate. I asked the gentleman behind the register and he said let me show you it on there and when I opened the container he said what do you want me to dig my hands into your food! I said just want my mango pineapple pico. Then he mumbled something under his breath basically insulting me and i said excuse me and he ignored me. I can tell you this, the food here is ok, it's not top notch authentic Greek food by any means. There is way better Greek places out there. I can tell you Apolis is way over priced for the amout of food they give you. Chicken plate $15 and you can see from my picture not even close to 1/4 pound of meat. The plate is made up of rice, fries and potatoes and toppings. Not worth the money at all. I spent $4.25 on Tzatziki sauce and maybe got 2 ounces. Paid $3 each for 2 burn gluten free pitas. Let me some this up. If you want good food that is over priced and bad customer service this is the place for you. I can assure you I will never step foot in this fast food joint again. Not worth my time, money or energy. See for your self the workers are miserable and you will feel the negative energy the moment you walk in. Save your money and go to Nicky's in Napervile on Ogden Ave. I keep good family business open with my hard earned money not miserable business owners and workers that don't care about the customer.

I lived in Chicago most of my life, & in “Greektown” for a number of years. For most of my 20s I had gyros at least once a week. I moved to Tennessee about 13 months ago, and it’s impossible to find anything I’d call gyros down there (also, they have NO IDEA what Italian Beef is!). While back in the burns for a week, I decided to get my gyro fix. Apolis wasn’t the closest place to me, but it had the best reviews (and photos). Guys. Seriously, guys....this was hands-down no-question without-a-doubt the best gyros I’ve ever had. It’s probably the best Greek food I’ve ever had. Imagine if Gordon Ramsey opened a gyros joint. I would’ve never imagined food this good. And the service was phenomenal. Super friendly & helpful. The tables were all full when I ordered, so I told him I guess I’d take it to go. He promised me a table by the time I was ready to sit down; told me either one would open up or they’d find me a smaller one. He was correct! A booth opened up just as I was paying. If you think greek salad is basically lettuce soaked in olive oil w/ cubes of feta cheese...do yourself a favor and stop by soon! You will be blown away.

We wanted to love this spot. We liked it but didn’t fall in love. It is authentic: the owner and the people in it are all Greek. It could use some ventilation as all our clothed stunk after dining in here. I wish they weren’t using styrofoam for plates or to go. We would have loved some mayo or tatziki on the side with our fries which were OK. I thought the chicken was very good. Spanakopita a was pretty standard. They have some misleading pricing going on: they tell you you can pick all your toppings, but if you added ones that things don’t come with, they charge extra for them. Check out my receipt picture. It’s OK to charge, but be more transparent! Otherwise, the prices were reasonable. The street pita has fries in it already. Pretty delicious. They use a lot of sauces, which is a huge plus in my book. Oh, also, this place is busy. We saw they do a lot of takeout business. If we lived close by, I would be coming back often. But it isn’t worth driving 30 mins for. Next time, I will try the platters.

I had ordered the "Build Your Own" plate which already comes with rice & 2 - sides. And I chose the yeeros-beef & lamb for meat,my toppings were tomatoes, onions, cucumber, and mango pineapple pico de gallo.

My 2-sides which I originally thought would come in a separate container but it did NOT so my sides were "Greek Salad" and "Hand Cut Greek Style Fries."

I had 2-sauces which were "Tzatziki" (cucumber garlic & olive oil) and "Mediterranean Spicy Cilantro" i would say it's past spicy and more into the hot category, the 2-sauces was good.

So all these different things were served in 1-to go container which was very little portion of everything. I would say I had about an ice cream scoop portion of all these things including my 2-sides. I don't understand why salad which is usually served cold be in the same container as hot food/items.

Overall the food was decent the sauces good but the portions they have now are very small compared to portions I've read in the reviews from years past. I spent $15+tax =$16 for 1-scoop of meat, 1-pita bread cut into 4-pieces, 1-scoop of rice and toppings and 1-scoop of salad & fries. And I'm talking about an average size ice cream scoop portion. I would go somewhere else to get at least twice as much portions of everything for a little over half of...

Today I thought I would try this Appolis Greek Street Diner out. So I did, but with Huge regret. And here's why Owner's... Your gyros isn't authentic Gyros ! What your serving the Public is Shawarma. I'm surprised that your actually atrempting to making the public believe yoir servinging this beef mixed with supposedly lamb, which is a spicier taste, where Gyros is a milder with Greek Herbs and typically the meat is sliced thicker, where as Shawarma is sliced thinner, and it's obvious not Gyros. You also burned the Meat....And If it wasn't for me having to smother my Sandwhich with loads of tzaziki sauce, I may as well be eating burned meat. The only three things I liked about your place was your Dining Room Atmosphere, your Pita Bread , and the Greek Music..ooopa ! But seriously Appolis, Try serving Authentic Greek Gyros, rather then Middle Eastern Shawarma. And as for you Channel 7 Food Critic, you wouldn't know the difference between Authentic American Food, and any other Nationality types types of foods, even it landed smack dab on your Ugly Face. The reason I'm pissed off Appolis, is because your serving up Garbage at $12.99 for an overpriced Shawarma Sandwich, which was burnt and $ 3.95 for a God Damn Coke ! Lousy, Lousy, Experience...
