I lived in Chicago most of my life, & in “Greektown” for a number of years. For most of my 20s I had gyros at least once a week. I moved to Tennessee about 13 months ago, and it’s impossible to find anything I’d call gyros down there (also, they have NO IDEA what Italian Beef is!). While back in the burns for a week, I decided to get my gyro fix. Apolis wasn’t the closest place to me, but it had the best reviews (and photos). Guys. Seriously, guys....this was hands-down no-question without-a-doubt the best gyros I’ve ever had. It’s probably the best Greek food I’ve ever had. Imagine if Gordon Ramsey opened a gyros joint. I would’ve never imagined food this good. And the service was phenomenal. Super friendly & helpful. The tables were all full when I ordered, so I told him I guess I’d take it to go. He promised me a table by the time I was ready to sit down; told me either one would open up or they’d find me a smaller one. He was correct! A booth opened up just as I was paying. If you think greek salad is basically lettuce soaked in olive oil w/ cubes of feta cheese...do yourself a favor and stop by soon! You will be blown away.

We wanted to love this spot. We liked it but didn’t fall in love. It is authentic: the owner and the people in it are all Greek. It could use some ventilation as all our clothed stunk after dining in here. I wish they weren’t using styrofoam for plates or to go. We would have loved some mayo or tatziki on the side with our fries which were OK. I thought the chicken was very good. Spanakopita a was pretty standard. They have some misleading pricing going on: they tell you you can pick all your toppings, but if you added ones that things don’t come with, they charge extra for them. Check out my receipt picture. It’s OK to charge, but be more transparent! Otherwise, the prices were reasonable. The street pita has fries in it already. Pretty delicious. They use a lot of sauces, which is a huge plus in my book. Oh, also, this place is busy. We saw they do a lot of takeout business. If we lived close by, I would be coming back often. But it isn’t worth driving 30 mins for. Next time, I will try the platters.

Let me start by saying I was excited to try out Apolis but when I walked through the doors, I felt the negative energy. Workers didn't greet me or were they smiling, seemed like they hated their jobs. I placed an online order and it was ready on time but when I checked my food because I drove 30 min to try on Apolis, I noticed my pineapple mango Pico was not in my chicken plate. I asked the gentleman behind the register and he said let me show you it on there and when I opened the container he said what do you want me to dig my hands into your food! I said just want my mango pineapple pico. Then he mumbled something under his breath basically insulting me and i said excuse me and he ignored me. I can tell you this, the food here is ok, it's not top notch authentic Greek food by any means. There is way better Greek places out there. I can tell you Apolis is way over priced for the amout of food they give you. Chicken plate $15 and you can see from my picture not even close to 1/4 pound of meat. The plate is made up of rice, fries and potatoes and toppings. Not worth the money at all. I spent $4.25 on Tzatziki sauce and maybe got 2 ounces. Paid $3 each for 2 burn gluten free pitas. Let me some this up. If you want good food that is over priced and bad customer service this is the place for you. I can assure you I will never step foot in this fast food joint again. Not worth my time, money or energy. See for your self the workers are miserable and you will feel the negative energy the moment you walk in. Save your money and go to Nicky's in Napervile on Ogden Ave. I keep good family business open with my hard earned money not miserable business owners and workers that don't care about the customer.

I’ve been coming to this hidden gem on & off for 2 years now and finally want to give a little review. It is just…… SO FREAKIN’ DELICIOUS. They are not stingy on the portions at all— you definitely get what you pay for here. I always go with the beef+chicken combo Skepasti with Greek fries and it never disappoints. The flavor is always a 10/10 and I always leave this place feeling filled up (in a good way). Would highly recommend squeezing a lemon all over your dish, it complements the other flavors very well. I just took my friend here today and he’s already obsessed. He’s going to bring his folks here from now on too. The place is definitely on the brighter side, but that won’t stop me from supporting it. I hope to see more open up in other areas. Sidenote— I used to go to a Greek place in Bolingbrook and ever since I munched at Apolis I’ve never been back to that other place. This is where it’s at!!!! 🔥🔥

Stopped in for a pita and salad. The service was good. They have many choices of proteins, vegetables and sauces to choose from . We chose the beef and lamb pita and beef and lamb salad. We asked for one to have the Mediterranean spicy cilantro and the other tzatziki sauces on the side. I loved the green spicy cilantro sauce but there wasn't any heat, not spicy but it had great flavors. The tzatziki sauce was just ok. The meat was a good flavor but a little dry. I would have liked it more moist. They help you build your salads and pitas in four steps which makes it easy to order. Pricing was a little high for the sizes of the meals. They serve Pepsi products. I would recommend them for a decent pita and salad. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive and get it, but if in the neighborhood it would be an option.

This is my second time trying Apolis, my first time dining in, and I will always come back for the skepasti! The kebab is my personal favorite, however both times I ordered it half if each quarter didn’t have any meat. I think, especially for the high price being charged for street food, there should be a generous amount of protein in each bite! The flavor is delicious nonetheless and the staff is so friendly! We were a group of 6 and paid over $200 for reference. The man at the register, Im not sure if he was the owner, was so kind in accommodating us and even gave us some dessert at the end of our meal. I love that everything is open and you can see your meal being made. Our chairs and the highchair were a little sticky and could use a scrub-down, otherwise everything looked clean.
