Since my favorite Chinese carry out restaurant near my home was closed, my wife and I decided to try something new. We were excited to try China Moon, especially after reading some of the positive reviews. Unfortunately, my wife and I were very disappointed with our main course meals. The meat in both of our meals were poor quality and the taste was very bland. The chicken in my Kung Pao Chicken was rubbery textured and greasy. My wife's beef with mixed vegetables had fatty and gristle beef. Both meals were inedible. We also tried their fried pot stickers, crab rangoon and egg rolls. Those were much better tasting. Their pot stickers are hand-made and extremely large and very generous portions! The outer pasta like portion was very thick, but inners were flavorful. The service of this restaurant was fast and fantastic. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, our food was a little mixed quality, but maybe it was an off day.
Update: After reading my review, the owner offered to refund me, and although we appreciate the gesture, I'm not accepting anything back. I respect they did their best to service me and in grateful for that. Because the owner was so gracious and genuinely concerned about our experience, it proves this management takes pride in their food quality and overall customer experience. For that, we're very appreciative of their high integrity and how serious they take customer service. We'd be happy to give them another...
Read moreChina Moon has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for at least10 years. I’ve never been disappointed in the service nor the food—always hot & fresh. My favorite entree become A7–a combo of plenty of jumbo shrimp, broccoli, carrots, pea pods in a container completely filled, enough to easily feed 3 or 4 adults. I also get a qt of their house fried rice that contains chicken, beef & lots of those large shrimps. Their egg rolls are superb. Crab Rangoon another delight. When I visit a friend in Wausau she insists I bring these choices because she has also become a fan. Says China Moon’s eggrolls are the best she’s had. The owner is a lovely, welcoming woman. I can’t recommend this restaurant strongly enough. I’ve never dined inside so can’t comment on that. This is not a huge restaurant. But their menu is so diverse & portions so large I don’t know how they’ve stayed in business. Since Covid they’ve used the front of the restaurant for storing boxes of needed supplies. Don’t let that make you misjudge the magic in their kitchen. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in anything they find on the menu that contains an enormous selection of entrees, soups...
Read more1st time ordering food from here. Delivery was longer than expected. We only live 9 minutes away and when I called store owner said my order left store 20 minutes ago. It took a total of 30 minutes for my food to be delivered after order left store. Food barely warm, egg rolls were super greasy, sweet n sour chicken was dry and didnt get entire order. I called talked to owner. Told her I didnt get my entire order and she screamed at me over the phone and told me order was right. I tried explaining to her several times that I ordered 2 sweet n sour chicken but onlh recieved 1. All she would do is scream at me and tell me that I must have ordered wrong. They scent a combo with fried rice I can not eat rice so why would I order it.Unreal for a owner of a business to scream at the customer. Never again will I ever order from them again. The food was cold, greasy, and even close to being good. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE...
