Sweetberry's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Little Chute

just figured out how to make an account I can actually review on because I have wanted to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt! And I love helping out smaller businesses. but I’m afraid this review won’t be so positive as much as I would have liked it to be, I’ve come to this restaurant a couple of times, once a couple of months ago in the winter, and the food was good. But recently I’ve came and the food from the last time I was here tasted completely different! And the way the owner acts during different instances, for example, a friend of mine always is in the restaurant later when there’s usually not many people there, owner is dismissive and on his electronics. Meanwhile there will be one worker. And in other instances I’ve had my own conversations with the owners, and they seem like good people however I noticed while I looked through the reviews myself, that their son, (the name they had mentioned, and the shared last name) left reviews on the page as well. And I don’t know if that’s totally fair , given it was probably the parents doing, and it’s a biased review! People won’t actually know which reviews are fully truthful and that is why I am giving this lengthy review, because I have also seen in another review the owners ask for detailed responses to help make their business better which is what I’m doing. I definitely preferred the food a couple of months ago, other occasions the place feels understaffed, recently there was only one worker and the cooks. Owner nowhere to be found. These girls look pretty young and they are always fabulous. All in all I think the issues with this business don’t stem from the employees themselves, but poor decision making on the owner. Some of the worst food in the Fox Valley. I'm writing this because they don't allow people to contact them through their website. And because I've just had another salad made by them with the same inedible gritty croutons that make my teeth feel like they're trying to break down little rocks.

What else? Plenty. Their breakfast wraps and meals are way overpriced and obviously not produced by anyone with real cooking skills or a real love for food. If you want actual good diner food just drive the extra 5 minutes to Rico's Family Restaurant in Freedom, WI. Their breakfast meals are almost 3 times as large and CHEAPER. Landreman's breakfast meals are small, costly, inconsistently prepared, just nothing memorable. El Jaripeo is only 30 seconds past Landreman's and they also serve spectacular affordable food.

It's also rare to get carry out from them and not have something missing, made wrong, or poorly prepared....

Landreman's uses a pretty picture on their website which makes it seem like they're a real restaurant when in reality they're a group of people inexperienced with preparing great food, always have been as far back as I can remember. It is the kind of place that you see get torn apart on a television show like Restaurant: Impossible. I imagine that the only reason they stay open is because the baby boomers and elderly customers who frequent the place don't know any better and can't cook themselves. They don't eat great good food. They don't know that when you eat it should always be great food. It should be a normal occurrence at all 3 meals, not a monthly special treat.

Went here for breakfast at about 10:30AM and it was clearly understaffed. It was my boyfriend and I seated at a four person table almost immediately which seemed strange because there was a two person table opened up in the back.. After placing our order and receiving our drinks the hostess/waitress walked up to us, stared and said "I have a favor to ask?" We both looked at her assuming maybe they had run out of something in the kitchen and would have to order something else. Instead she asked us to move tables so they could use our table for a large group of people waiting to be seated. Honestly the FIRST time EVER we've been asked to move tables eating out. Looking at the nervous waitress we just decided to do it, and maybe it was my bad for assuming but I figured we would get some kind of discount for having to move all of our cups etc. to the table across from us. Once we received our food, it was certainly luke warm and you could tell the bacon had been sitting somewhere for quite some time once biting into it. Hungry we ate what we had order so we could just get the heck out of there. We received the bill after waiting almost 10 minutes after being done eating with no discount. We got another nervous thank you from the waitress and without even asking if my boyfriend needed a box, which he did, she took his plate, and said have a good day.
