There was a time that I would look forward to going to Grady's. The service was always excellent and my order was always just as I ordered it. If it wasn't the staff made extra effort to ensure that I was satisfied. I don't know when this young man came along, he calls himself the owners son. He is rude, loud, not customer friendly, and quick to ask you to leave his store when he gets aggravated. I say that to share that I ordered a pizza at approximately 5:45 on 11/16/16 via phone with my credit card. A friend went to pick it up, she arrived at the wrong store, they called the 12th street location to alert them that she would be arriving, when she did, the pizza was not ready. I then called and informed them that the young lady had taken my credit card information, yet my pizza was not ready. The manager (owner's son) came to the phone, justified that they were very busy and that he would personally prepare my pizza and deliver it to me. He then went on to explain that he was juggling two stores because his employees were robbing and stealing him blind. I accepted his offer for him to deliver the pizza. At approximately 8:00 p.m., I called and the young lady answering the phone said he had a problem with my address (I repeated it to him several times for accuracy). I decided to present to the store because it did not appear that my pizza was going to be delivered. I entered the store, informed the young lady my name and that I had been expecting my pizza to be delivered. She did not know if it was ready and I questioned her as to why not? My voice was raised, but the frustration of waiting over 2 hours for a pizza and then being patronized was a bit much for me. The owner's son then yelled, "I have the pizza, but since you have an attitude I will give you your money." He then shouted to me and my friend to shush and pushed menus toward us. He continued to holler and I continued to raise my voice. He loudly informed us to leave us to store, "to get out" and threatened us that he would call the police When we informed him to do so he decided against it and again shouted for us to get out as he refunded my credit card and PUSHED IT FORCEFULLY TOWARD ME. To be honest we both were loud to each other, however, he was threatening to my friend and myself. In all of my years and it's been over 20 have I ever had an experience like this at Grady's. I have heard stories about this young man's behavior before, but it was not experience so I was willing to continue to patronize the business. HOWEVER, AFTER THIS DISPLAY OF UNPROFESSIONALISM I WILL NEVER ENTER THE DOORS OF GRADY'S AGAIN!! HE CALLS HIMSELF THE OWNER'S SON as if TO INTIMIDATE OTHERS. HE IS RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, SELF CENTERED AND NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE FRIENDLY, BETTER YET HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! In previous years my order was alway a veggie sandwich on onion bread, ask any of the employees that he accused of stealing if I was ever rude, intimidating, loud, or complained about my service. For those in the store that evening I hate you all had to witness that interaction and I apologize for my role. However, IF YOU ARE MANAGEMENT YOUR ROLE IS TO SATISFY THE CUSTOMER AT ALL TIMES. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WILL MAKE SURE THAT I DISSUADE ANYONE FROM GOING INTO THAT BUSINESS. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH A SPOILED DRAMATIC SON...
ย ย ย Read moreTo start I would like to say from the beginning that the food here was pretty goodโฆhowever I was in town for work and currently live in Florida, but am originally from Saint Louis, and when I saw that there was a place that served St. Louis style pizza, I walked into the place with quite a bit of excitement. Their menu states that many of their items, including many of the pizzas and several of their appetizers, are Saint Louis styleโฆbut that is not quite FULLY accurate. Iโd like to note as an aside to the following things below, the pizza and the T-Ravs I received were quite good. That said, when I ordered my pizza and specifically asked for a SAINT LOUIS style sausage and bacon pizza, but received a hand-tossed pizza instead, I was a bit confused, and asked the waitress if they had any thin crusts. She told me that indeed they did, but they serve hand tossed by default unless specifically requested. Being from STL, having to request thin crust when ordering a STL pizza seems a bit redundant. To me, that would be similar to having to request my pizza to be deep dish when I ordered one Chicago style, or to be floppy and a bit greasy if I asked for it to be New York style. As stated near the beginning, my pizza tasted pretty good. It did have Provel cheese and the toppings were quality ingredients. Their toasted ravioli was also good, but wasnโt quite what I was expecting when I ordered it, but my disappointment with this second menu item was entirely my own faultโฆthe menu does say St. Louis-Style Deep Fried Cheese Ravioli. MOST places serve deep fried beef/pork (and MAYBE chicken) meat ravioli, not cheese. I believe that the cheese was a Mozzarella/Provel blend and was...
ย ย ย Read moreThe website says happy hour on mimosas, margaritas, bloody Maryโs, wine, and beer. I called up there just to make sure. When I asked the guy if they still had happy hour he said โidkโโฆ.didnโt bother asking another employee. If you work there, you need to know whatโs on the menu and what kind of specials yโall have. I trusted that they had happy hour even after being told โidkโ. When I came in I ordered a margarita and was told they only carry beer and wine even though their website for months has said they carry way more than that. They need to update their website because itโs misleading. On the website it also says they have specials every day. I came in on a Wednesday and the special online said $3 off any size pizza for dine in. When I mentioned the special to the server acted like she had no idea what I was talking aboutโฆ..again website is inaccurate and misleading. So I decided to try the cheese ravioli and get told they fryer is out. I ordered a beer and she said the beer keg busted. I just felt like almost everything I asked for, there was a problem. Iโm sad that the Rodney parham location just closed permanently and this location is slowly going downhill.
I canโt comment to owners comment unfortunately but when you type in โGradys 12th streetโ in google and then click on their website that is linked to gradys 12th street it still to this day is still the exact menu and specials from RP which is still misleading and needs updated...
