Edie's Luncheonette — Restaurant in Little Silver

Great place for breakfast and/or lunch. The diner is small, with a long counter and two person tables and a few booths. The food is delicious and the servers friendly and attentive. Normally I only order homemade hash, but Gloria (our server) exclaimed that theirs was really good (even out of the can) and she was right. It was perfectly made and tasty, with crunchy well done edges. It was crowded when we arrived (noon), but plenty of seating after 1pm. The diner is not wheelchair accessible, but there is an outdoor space that may be accessible in the warm months (outdoor space was closed today). There are steps leading up the front door, and the inside is pretty tight, as far as maneuverability. Few parking places out front, but plenty of street parking on a quiet street. Will...

Cool old style mom and pop place but......We ordered breakfast platters which included pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage. Something happened with our order since 3 tables of people that came in after us got their food before us. Everything was average at best. (And mainly cold) We eat at a lot of breakfast places and this was nothing special whatsoever and the bill came to $30!!.... for breakfast!!! On a positive note.. Someone ordered the lobster salad platter at 10:00 am and, although it seemed like an odd menu item to order at that time, it looked really good!! The customer was telling the other customers how delicious it was.... Guess we should have ordered the lobster salad...

I recently ordered DoorDash from this restaurant, opting for the strawberry pancakes. The food itself was tasty, but the experience was lacking. Unfortunately, my order was missing some essentials: no napkins, no silverware, and no syrup.

Given that I was in the middle of my shift, I had no choice but to eat with my hands. While the pancakes were good, I expected more from a DoorDash order, especially considering the premium pricing. You'd think that a basic utensil like a fork would be included. Hopefully, the restaurant will take steps to improve their takeout packaging and overall...
