This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time and I have had a lot of great experiences recently but I was blown away at Toast. My server was the sweetest and best server ever. The food was amazing. I love the cute toast art everywhere. I couldn't complain about anything. And my daughter ordered a weird latte because she has been getting on this lavender honey kick lately but she keeps ordering ice creams and things like that so of course they're going to be really sweet and she didn't really like the latte version and they were so nice to take it off and give her a different sweeter latte even though that was totally her mistake for ordering something that is typically a bit more mature flavor profile. So I thought that was really kind and generous of them. Also I ordered the Eggs Blackstone and I asked if they could do regular bacon instead of the spicy red pepper bacon and they were sweet enough to bring me a piece of the spicy bacon to try. I'm so glad I got to try it it was sweet and spicy at the same time and I think it is a delicious way to flavor the Benedict however I am very sensitive to spice and it was a little too much for me probably so that was the best of both worlds to get to try it but I wasn't overpowered by the heat in the dish by getting normal bacon. But I would recommend it as is to anyone who can handle the heat haha. I am a bit weak sauce when it comes to that. Everything was cooked perfectly my poached eggs still had a soft and runny yolk as you always hope. The hollandaise was flavored perfectly. And they have oversized delicious lattes. They also have a very generous side order menu. We got a side order of the strawberry cream cheese pancakes to share between us and it was more than we could share. I will definitely be back even though it is a little bit of a drive because Toast is amazing. Highly recommended to any fans of breakfast food. But they also have a lunch menu...
Read moreWe’ve been regulars at Toast for nearly a year, typically visiting after church on Sundays. Unfortunately, the quality of both the food and service has been steadily declining, and today’s experience was the tipping point.
First, my daughter’s eggs arrived with a short black hair on them. When we brought this to the server’s attention, she took the plate without any apology or acknowledgment. The replacement eggs were no better—gray on one side. My husband didn’t feel comfortable giving them to our 3-year-old, but the server never inquired why they remained untouched, despite glancing at the plate multiple times. Mistakes happen, but her lack of professionalism was disappointing.
I also requested crispy bacon three times. After sending it back, it finally arrived charred and inedible. Similarly, my $6 chai tea was mostly foam, leaving the actual beverage value underwhelming.
The high chair provided was filthy, and we had to clean it ourselves with baby wipes. No one offered assistance or even a cleaning cloth, which added to the sense of poor attention to detail.
What’s most concerning, however, is the misleading information about their cooking practices. I’ve always requested my eggs be cooked in real butter, and until today, the server had accommodated this without issue. Today, however, I was told by both the server and a manager that the kitchen only uses canola oil and has no access to butter. This revelation left me feeling misled, as I’ve unknowingly been consuming food prepared with an oil that is both unhealthy and inconsistent with the quality one might expect from a place called “Toast Fine Food & Coffee.”
Overall, today’s visit was enough to make us reconsider ever coming back. The experience fell far short of the quality and service we’ve come to expect, and the misleading claims about ingredients are especially troubling. Toast has lost our trust, and sadly, this is likely...
Read moreThis is a place I adore and visit often. I’m happy to edit this review to give five stars if someone can fix my problem simply because it’s my last resort. I ordered delivery from Toast via there website which took me to order through google. The process to order was easy, it said the ETA for my food was 40 minutes. I placed the order at 10am. 40 min passed and still no sign of my food, I wait longer because I live in an apartment and thought maybe the delivery driver was having a hard time finding my unit. It is now 11:20 and still no food. Google tells me to contact Toast if I haven’t received my order so I did. When I first answered the phone a woman answered, I told her I had just placed the order, and then we were disconnected. I call back, the same woman answers, only this time with a terrible tone. I start the call off again by saying “i’m sorry I think we were disconnected but I placed a del-“ this woman immediately cut me off by saying “right what was your name.” in an extremely rude tone. I told her my name, she told me the driver just left. I explained the situation again and she told me I don’t know you have to contact the driver, and when I told her i was calling Toast directly because that is what the delivery service instructed she told me that I in fact had not placed the order an hour ago and that if i had, it was a glitch in the system and still not her fault. So to just wait for my order. This is the first time id been spoken to so awfully and rudely by any employee at Toast and i’m SO disappointed by not only her lack of customer service or empathy when i was being extremely patient and kind but also this situation. If someone could contact me directly it would be greatly appreciated.
Update: Finally received my food at 11:25, and I received the wrong food! I’m so saddened by...
