Every time I come to this Walgreens, Bill is always incredibly nice and takes the time to have genuine conversations with customers. His customer service is top notch, And he always makes the checkout experience pleasant. Kai was also super helpful today when I needed assistance, And I really appreciate that! Unfortunately, My experience at the photo center today was not great. I went to pick up my photo card, And Mike completely ignored me. Not even a simple “I’ll be right with you” I waited, But after getting zero acknowledgment, I decided to check out my other item with Bill, Who, As ALWAYS, Was friendly and kind. I went back to the photo center afterward, And Mike was still assisting the same customer but again made no effort to acknowledge my presence. At that point, I considered pressing the help button but didn’t want to be THAT person when I should’ve. Instead, I asked Bill or Kai at the front if they could check me out, And Kai kindly helped me. While Mike was frustrating, I won’t let it take away from the great customer service I received from Bill and Kai. They both deserve recognition for their kindness and professionalism!
I wasn’t even going to write this “update” because I DO believe the pharmacy staff probably tries their best, And a lot of these issues are likely tied to policy and not PERSONAL effort. That said, I unfortunately had to be “one of those” customers yesterday and this is coming from someone who works in retail. First off, It always takes forever to get medication here. I’ve been understanding about that because, Again, Maybe they’re short staffed or just doing what they can. But one time I picked up a prescription at Walmart and the experience was night and day. I’m sure they have their bad days too, But damn. With Walgreens, It’s always something like what’s really going on lol. One visit: “Your insurance doesn’t cover this anymore, So you have to pay out of pocket…$11 something” Okay cool, Give me my medication lol. Next visit: “They cover it now” Cool again, Give me my medicine?? Lol. Then the next: “Nope, They don’t” I still DON’T care. Give me my medicine lol??? Mind you, Every time it doesn’t get covered, A GoodRx coupon has AUTOMATICALLY been applied, Which helps bring the cost back down. But a few visits ago, One SPECIFIC worker made me fill out a form saying I could lose my insurance for paying out of pocket. I’m standing there like…“Uh okay?” Cuz how else am I supposed to get it if my insurance isn’t covering it lol. And mind you, I’ve NEVER been told this before. Not once, Except by her. Every other visit, No issue but the long wait. Fast forward to yesterday. I’m exhausted after these 14 hour shifts, Just trying to pick up my meds…Great, It’s her again. I get that she might just be following policy, But seriously, This girl is actually annoying. She casually tells me it’s going to be $45 something. I’m confused, Because it’s USUALLY around $11 with the GoodRx coupon. I ask where the coupon is, And she goes off about how Walgreens can’t use GoodRx anymore because of some vague reason (which I honestly forgot because I stopped listening at that point) Then she hits me AGAIN with the whole “you could lose your insurance” speech. Girl, How about they pay for it then? :)
I asked for her name…which I don’t even remember now (something like Torn or Fawn maybe) and she offers to get the manager. I LITERALLY said “No I just want my medication I’ll sign the paper” She goes and gets him anyway. Manager comes over and just repeats what she said, But THIS IS THE LAST TIME they’ll use the coupon. Oh, But also “We weren’t supposed to be using it before” And that’s when I’m like…How is that my problem? You guys are the ones fumbling this, Not me. Anyway, I’m officially switching pharmacies. I’m done dealing with this kind of inconsistency and incompetence. Y’all have exhausted all benefit...
Read moreThe pharmacy is completely unprofessional. We were visiting from out of town, and needed urgent prescriptions for a family member experiencing pulmonary symptoms related to a chronic condition that was being worsened due to altitude sickness. The hospital called the prescriptions in to this location. We arrived around 8am when they opened, we were told “oh yeah, you can’t trust the times listed on the website or signs, the pharmacy doesn’t open until 9am”. We waited an hour, no stress things happen and we could get the medication in an hour. A little after 9am, we were told the pharmacy staff actually couldn’t come in until 10:30am. No staff at all were in, not just one person expecting an emergency or something, the pharmacy was fully closed. We left to go to another pharmacy at that point, taking away more time from our trip and delaying my family members access to their medications. This was very upsetting and unprofessional behavior for a pharmacy owned by such a large chain. I understand things come up, but the communication and professionalism was lacking from the pharmacy from the...
Read moreI've been using Walgreens pharmacy for years. I used to go to Broadway & Evans because the pharmacist Luther was so kind & caring but he retired. Moved to the one on Broadway & Bellview. Priscilla, the pharmacist, was amazing. She actually cared about people with chronic illness. She quit & that location changed their hours. Moved to this location, it's been one headache after another. The drive thru isn't ever open. They never have my medicine in stock or call me to let me know. They say they will order, but its not guaranteed. Then they told me to call 5 days before its due so they can order to turn around to tell me they need the prescription 1st. I just found out they have a call center answering pharmacy calls. They have told me the wrong information several times. Transferred my prescriptions to the grocery store next to this location. I had no clue Walgreens price gouges. Walgreens can't beat the grocery store prices, especially with being cash pay. I hope to find a private pharmacy that carries my medicine. I'm done with big...
