Sushi Zone — Restaurant in Livermore

IRASSHAIMASE!!!

This our go-to sushi restaurant in Livermore. Sean, his sister, their father, and the rest of the crew are very friendly and accommodating. We have been going to Sushi Zone since we settled in Livermore in 2011.

The employees always recognize us and say a special hello to the kids. When they were babies, the staff held them and toured them through the restaurant just to give my wife and I a few minutes of kid-free time. And since they started eating solid foods, we discovered that they liked cooked salmon. But, as babies, they would never eat a large bento box portion and we didn't want to take home fish for leftovers. Luckily, the Sushi Zone crew would allow us to order appetizer sashimi salmon and have it baked in their little toaster oven. This allowed us to give very small portions of cooked salmon that wouldn't go to waste, nor cost an arm and a leg. I don't know that other sushi restaurants would allow this, or have the oven to do so. For this reason, as well as the proximity to our home, and our kids' preschool across the street, this became our place.

But while the convenience of the location, the friendly staff, and the accommodations for our kiddos are certainly helpful, the quality of the food is excellent and so are the portions. We've tried just about everything on the menu and love them all. We bring friends there and now they love it too.

I usually get the salmon or hamachi sashimi deluxe dinner. My oldest boy now does too, and will share with the youngest (they've graduated to raw fish). My wife loves the Explosion Roll, 49er Roll, and Paragon. We both love the New Style Sashimi, but pretty sure you'll like whatever you order. This is by far my favorite restaurant for sushi. We go there every single time we crave sushi. The first time we went, was only because we were searching for a good place where we can find good sushi, finally. Here is what we ordered : 49er's Roll (Really good.) Rainbow roll (One of my favorites so we ordered another, so that day we ordered two in all!) Spicy Tuna Roll (Actually not too spicy!) Unagi (We ordered two so that we could have four in total eel rolls. Very delicious!) Nabe Udon (Yummy addition to the meal, but we may not order that again because we were there mostly for sushi.) California Roll (A delicious classic!) Giant Roll (It was quite very huge, but my family loved it!) (We also tried the Apple Juice.) That was a delicious and filling meal and our waiter was rather surprised by four people eating so much. Yes, we did go back a second time, but this time with a group of our family friends. (I did NOT keep track of the food we had ordered but just to note : Sushi is their specialty and that is what I would recommend to order, for their teriyaki and other dishes aren't as great as their sushi. Our third time we went back, just us four and our waiter remembered us! (Loved the hospitality!) Sadly, I could not keep track of what we had ordered, but it was delicious! Our most recent time going there was only last month and finished in max 15 minutes! We were in and out of there so quickly. Yet another scrumptious meal! Dragon Roll (New to us, but delicious!)
