Snow Top Drive Inn — Restaurant in Livingston

Second time in two weeks going to SnowTop and our first experience with the food was great! A little pricey but hey that’s inflation for ya’. There was one family in front of me when I went to pick up my order I called in for pick up and it was already ready and at the lamps but the girls behind the counter acted as though they were extremely overwhelmed and busy that it made me feel like I was a problem to them instead of a customer coming to enjoy their food. But because when I got home the food was just so dang good we ordered a second time and I guess that was a mistake. When I called to place my order before ever taking my order they told me I’d have to wait over 30 minutes for my order as though they didn’t want to take my order but that actually worked out great for me since I needed to stop at the grocery store down the road first anyway so when I said that was great the young woman over the phone proceeded to say “so what do you want then?” And I should have just trusted my instincts and decided against ordering this time but I couldn’t help myself because their food was just so good last time we ordered here. So I ordered and then I was asked abruptly “we need your phone number for a call back number” and it felt as though they thought I was just calling an order in just to NOT pick it up. So, letting all of this go, when I passed the restaurant to head to the store there was one vehicle in their parking lot and when I was finished and pulled up no customers were there. And when I went in to pay my order was already sitting under the heat lamps. Even though I got there less than the time they stated on the phone. And when I got the food home it was cold and stale.. If it wasn’t going to take more than 30 minutes I just wish they would have called me back to tell me so I could have picked it up sooner since they were so adamant about getting my call back information but they didn’t. I’m hoping this interaction is a one off experience and I will go back to try again because we haven’t always had this kind of experience hence why I made it a point to explain we had ordered before and it was delicious so I didn’t give them no stars but I can’t with good conscience give them a five star review for this experience. P.S. employees or owner of establishment , if you open a container of nacho chips and there are still chips in the bag make a better effort to conceal the bag so the chips don’t go stale. And if you tell customers it’s a long wait and it ends up not being as busy as you assumed it would be courteous to call us and let us know since you want to call us if we don’t show up for our orders. Both should happen. P.P.S. This is just customer feedback and perspective from a couple who orders here and spends their money here and wants everyone to have the best experience possible. After being an employee at this small restaurant it has helped me see both sides. First off, the food is amazing, if its something you don't like you don't have to get it so I'm rating this off of the food I have ate and liked. The most popular things that are ordered is probably the cheese burgers and shakes, we also get a lot of nachos and specialty fries. Service. The service is also pretty good, we try to be kind and very nice to every customer we get. We have had a few disrespectful customers but we just try to "kill them with kindness." We try to help customers as soon as we see them and we are fast with getting their orders out. Also, if we tell you a certain amount of waiting time and it turns out to be longer don't get frustrated, there are usually only 2 people working in the kitchen area as this IS a very small business. The atmosphere is also very good. We try to treat customers as if they are family or friends, we will have conversations with them and we try to make them feel very comfortable and homey. The only thing we ask is for you to be clothes, have shoes on, and no pets in the dining room for cleanliness and so other people aren't uncomfortable. Very friendly and courteous employees. Food was great! I will be going back to try the catfish poboy..i had a hamburger combo and fries were hot even after driving home.

Edit*my first visit was before lunchtime and I was so excited about eating here again. I brought a friend a couple weeks later around 5pm. I ordered our food and was told 15 mins. Well we waited .....waited and waited. I finally asked a different girl how much longer. Well, the one who took my order sat my ticket in a basket and never gave it to the one cooking. So she said it would be atleast another 20 mins. So my friend who metme.that evening waited and I left. I informed the girl at the window who he was and his name and said he'd come to the window in about 15 mins. He went to the window 20mins later and again, food had never been started. We did finally get our food but the order was wrong and not good either and sloppily done. I am so disappointed. I had been bragging about the service and food here since my first visit. A wasted 40bucks. *I had even purchased a hamburger for my dog as well. Needless to say, he got to eat most of our meals. Maybe he will give a better review ;/ I will note that it was a different crew working on...
