My wife and I visited today for the very first time for a late breakfast. My wife's food was good and plentiful. I ordered a Farmers Omelet, no cheese with hashbrowns outside the omelet. What I received was an omelet with Swiss (or white) cheese. The waitress put in the correct order but the cook (also the owner as I was told) made the mistake. The second omelet came out with hashbrowns in the omelet. Under cooked meat and full of onions. It was sent back again. The waitress returns and tells me the cook is refusing to cook anything for me. We were dumbfounded. The cook came out and challenged me as to why I sent the food back twice. I tried to explained to him that neither times was my fault. I tried to explained to him that I am a 100% Disabled Veteran and Cancer survivor (stomach/large colon). The cook then said that I had no intentions of paying for our meal. He asked the waitress about the second omelet with hashbrowns inside. She stated it was a misunderstanding on her part. Mind you, the first omelet came out with hashbrowns outside omelet and none within. The cook the said if I wanted food, I would have to pay in advance. Sorry for losing us as customers he said with much distain. Fine... My wife and I decided to leave and I went to pay for the meal. The waitress gives me a bill for everything. Wasn't going to pay for a meal I did not eat only the French Toast, pop is all I had. I had no issues also paying for my wife's breakfast. The second bill comes in for $18.00. I paid $21.00, including a tip for the waitress. I know...many would not have but she's not responsible for the owner/cook actions. As I am about to leave, the cook/owner made a rude and embarrassing comment towards me from behind the kitchen. I responded in kind and he threatened to take my head off. I kind of lost it when he came out from behind the kitchen and approached my wife and I in a threatening manner. I admit, I did not back down. Right or wrong, when someone becomes that verbally/physically aggressive I will always protect my family. Another customer rushed up and got between the cook/owner and I and agreed that the cook/owner was out of line and that, " He's not worth it", referring to the cook/owner. I stood my ground and the cook/owner scurried back into the kitchen. The entire incident was unfortunate. I am known to be non confrontational . We have raised or children to respect others especially their elders. I tried very hard to explain to him that as the result of my injuries and other serious medical issues I must be clear and observant on what I can can not digest. He did not need for me to explain why I ordered my food a certain way. I did it hoping that he would calm down and realize he made the mistake not once but twice. I am positive he will respond to this post giving his version. We both have witnesses on how rude, unprofessional and threatening he conducted himself. Even after telling him of my Veteran Disability and Cancer survivor status, he continued his poor conduct and representation of what appears to be a good place to eat. Apparently, reading many posts on others experiences from good, so-so, bad, my (first ever in my life) cautionary posts to other Veterans, Disabled veterans and Cancer Survivors is respectfully submitted. I hope all of their present and future customers fare better than we did. We should be able to support the businesses in our own community. Very unfortunate and disappointing. Very sorry for the long post. Thank you to the customer who came to my wife and my defense and...
Read moreSo i worked here for a minute, the owner treats the waitresses horrible and goes through waitresses like he goes through boxes of ketchup. I was here "training" for a minute. He would yell over every little thing. I had braids when i started, he told me they were too long and problemtic, he made me wear a hat, so i cut them into a bob, i always got lots of compliments from customers, the bob was a problem so i took the braids out, my real hair is locked and i told him that before even taking my hair down so it cant be a problem. He still made me wear a hat because it was "too short" the customers began asking why i am the only waitress who has to wear a hat, i just said he doesnt like my hair. I tried wigs,i tried my hair, i tried briads. Over a week later he is yelling at me upset because a waitress told him that a black customer asked my why i am wearing a hat and i told him he told me to because of my hair (AND HE DID). He told me to comb my hair i told him you cant comb locks. The "black" customer told me he has a niece who wears it the same way and he thinks its nothing wrong with it, very professional and beautiful, i had many customers trying to encourage me white and black. He starts saying why did i tell him that and it was just too short. I had TONS of customers (of all colors) asking and even directly saying to me how wrong it was. He never paid me a dime. He has very few customers for a diner in general because he charges extra for every little thing. When he hired me, he said it was because i was a very pretty girl that dressed age appropiately so i am nothing other than humiliated. I just feel like if my apperance was a problem you knew what you were getting into when i inquired within.
Update: i never argued with the waitresses and he yelled at me for explaining to the customers that asked why i wore a hat that it was my hair. They said it was fine and if it was a problem it should have been brought up when i was hired. He is too stuck in his ways to care and drives all his business away by either yelling at the waitresses constantly or charging extra for EVERY LITTLE THING. Then when the customers get upset at things he throws the waitresses under the bus and blames them. FOR EXAMPLE, he upped his prices with a printout but only slid them into the menu not taped them down. So i had a customer mad at me for not giving them the cheaper price. When i showed him how he didnt tape the insert down so there are literally 2 prices he said "no there is only one menu where did you get that one?" Then when another waitress showed him he said it was the way im handing the customer the menu. And then ignored ME. So his wife began taping them all down and tells me its ok. All while there is still an angry customer that i had to ignore and simply said ask the boss. He charges you for to go cups with carry out. He charges for lemon in water. Want to substitute your side for tomato slices because of your...
Read moreBeing that this Restaurant is next door to the Livonia SOS Super Center. Me and my wife decided to have Breakfast while waiting on our number to come up.I was supprised to notice not many people were in there from Secty of State. My first distraction that I noticed was a half of a toast under the table before and after we left. There were only 4-6 customers there during Lunch time. The waitress was okay. I could hear her correcting the Cook, who is also the owner several times on our order.I guess that was the first sign to Leave. The Cook began to get Loud with the poor waitress when he was the one who made several mistakes, trying to blame her. Being the customer,I should have never been able to hear his Rudeness. When the food finally came I was not pleased. I ordered a chicken fajita scrambler and it was extremely greasy and my pancakes was Banana Pecans. The waitress had to to tell him several times. Normally, the bananas are cooked in the pancakes but he decided to put them on top.The waitress went to ask the Cook if he could take the pancakes off of the bill and he said no and refused. So, I can see why his business volume is extremely low, 4-6...
