Tried this place for the first and last time last night. SUPER dirty interior, can only imagine what the kitchen in back looks like. Nasty old school cigarette machine right in the ālobby.ā Takeout only, and couldnāt place an order over the phone because it was busy each time I called. I thought this was a good sign that they are busy. It took 15 mins just to place my takeout order and then waited another 15 minutes and then took 5 minutes to get back to hotel. I open the bag and find ZERO utensils at a TAKEOUT ONLY place for my soup and chicken dish and my hotel had none either. Iām upset at this point but really hungry, so I got over it and tried ādrinkingā the soup, which was ICE COLD and was neither hot nor sour. Super bland and watered down. Chicken was lukewarm and the rice was also cold. What a horrible experience I wish I never had. Looked great online. Big mistake. Ended up throwing the entire meal away and went somewhere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe wait is longer than your typical Chinese restaurant and itās not worth it!! I literally changed my review from 5 stars to 1 star because one of my shrimp egg foo young patties had hair cooked in it and I didnāt catch it till I was about to reheat the food the next day. On the day I got my food, I ate one of the patties which is why some of the pattie is gone in the picture. I also left a 5 start rating that day. The NEXT day, I was in the process of about to warm up my food and I noticed hair on the other patty. I took a fork and plucked it out of the patty. It was cooked into the patty. It was multiple hairs in that one patty! Thankfully, I didnāt notice any of the hair in the patty I ate the day before. Also, thankfully, the gravy was on the side b/c I probably wouldnāt have caught that! I went back to the picture and circled the hair that I didnāt notice when I originally took the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFelt a bit rushed when ordering, but I think that might've been due to a shortage of workers. The owner was still nice and friendly. We ordered the hot and sour soup, egg rolls, crab rangoons, and almond chicken. The food was good and decently priced for the portions. We spent a total of $35.00.
Here are the pros and cons: Cannot order online, must call or walk in. Despite walking in, our order was ready fast, literally in 10 minutes! Hot and sour soup had great flavor, but was greasy. Had a thick layer of red grease on top that I had to remove to eat the soup. Almond chicken was hot and fresh! Crab rangoons were hot and fresh! If it matters, the cream cheese filling is not sweet, but the dipping sauce was!
Overall it wasn't as good as my favorite Chinese restaurant (further away since I moved), but I...
